UNLV does have opportunities for students in networking with students orgs, faculty, and community members. You have to go get it. Having a support system is a must and building one takes time and energy. I was able to attain a full ride and more than I could imagine, such as presenting research at international conference sponsored by UNLV and learning from doctoral students in labs. Although there are negatives to any aspect, such financial aid takes a lengthy time to process many things and the... Read More

UNLV is easily one of the worst universities in the country. They claim to offer a wide variety of degree programs however, they do not actually offer the classes to obtain that degree. The acceptance rate is over 80%, yet less than 40% are able to graduate. Looking back at my program, I thought it did a good job of providing the material needed in order to embark on a career in Kinesiology. I think the department could do a better job of providing career opportunities and avenues for those in the major.

Dr. G. is a gem of a professor, if you can take his Professionalism in Kinesiology class (beneficial no matter what major you declare), I promise you will not be disappointed. The campus is really easy to get around, no hills to worry about and convenient for long boards, scooters, and bikes. Free parking is hectic if you don't get there early enough and to be honest it isn't worth the hassle, get a parking pass.

UNLV is growing and updating their facilities every year. Although it is placed in the middle of the busy city, the campus is not affected with the commotion of the Las Vegas strip. The campus is not very large and makes it easy to commute from class to class. The Lied Library is without a doubt a great place to study individually or as a group with the options of private rooms to rent or use. The school spirit is something to be noted, and every year when we battle for the Fremont Cannon with UNR,... Read More
