need to work on administration and need to improve "chain of command" type communication since no one ever responds to you when needed. They do tend to reach out immediately when things such as tuition payments or dropping you (from what ive seen other students say)

The education was okay, but the overall experience with the school was not. The school was very expensive and didn’t offer a lot to actually make up for what we were paying for. We graduated during Covid and theirs were no accommodations or even price drops even though we didn’t get any of the things promised to us.

I personally have had a great experience at this school. Personally, all these complaints about the pricing, its no secret that this school charges alot. Regarding academics, being a current student, you are able to see the difference with the students who are disssatisfied and who are happy with this school. In my experience the dissatisfied students are the ones who dont take this program serious and wait for things to be handed to you. Nursing school is hard, however i feel like its how you tackle... Due to life circumstances, I failed a class. I have asked several times for re-instatement in order to finish up my degree and was turned down. My appeal was denied as well. It just made me feel that the school only cares about the tuition that they already collected, and not about the huge amount of debt that the student already incurred with nothing to show for.

I was asking to continue my education although I would incur more debt to achieve the degree that I was seeking. Yet, they did not want... Read More

Degree: RN to MSN

This school took my money, enrolling me in a course that I never intended to enroll in. I filled out the application for the FNP program, and they registered me in the MSN program. Two years later, once I graduated, I had to start again on the FNP; however, they offered me the acute care program, which seemed to be faster. Six months before graduation, I had no clinical site. I found placement at a local ER, which was not suitable for the program. The school didn't help me find a clinical site. On... Read More

Terrible place to be in all aspects. The school is focused on how to make money and not how to teach students. They say they are student centric but they are far from attending to students needs. I barely learned anything in this school and many workplaces had to teach me how to treat patients. We are always short on instructors and many instructors that are there are not interested in teaching or don’t have the skills to teach. The dean is a dictator and the worst person you can deal with. The school is great and amazing teachers. However, the financial aid department needs a little work. There’s a woman there that doesn’t know how to speak to students and offers little to no help with finances. It always seems like she doesn’t want to interact with students.

West Coast University is the worst one I have been. I am currently enrolled in an online FNP program. I have faced technical issues, but the university does not provide tech support over the weekend, and it takes 2-3 business days to respond to your queries. No one cares that you will be penalized for late submissions, as the university is not concerned about your late submissions and tries to economize on essential student needs. From an academic perspective, the lectures are inadequate, with a... Read More

West Coast university Ontario was not a good choice . I was looking to get into nursing school because I was tired of waiting. Wcu got me with the every 10 weeks is a different class . They don’t tell you quiz plus unnecessary busy online unreal senarios are required as well . I got dismissed with and overall Gpa 3.0 with 7 months left until graduation. They refused to let me back in because I failed with a C because my proctor exam took my critical score to a 74. The following term they eliminated... Read More

West Coast University is a "For-Profit" school meaning that they genuienly don't care about their students. If you plan to attend this school remember that West Coast University's first priority is your money and not your success, mental health or concerns. The school allows their instructors to write their own exams which are not uniform across the board which puts certain students at a disadvantage as not all instructors are great test writers and are able to correlate the test properly to their... This is the WORST NURSING school ever. I attended for a couple semesters and I could have definitely gone to another nursing school that was better and around the same price. I went 70K dollars in debt and I really wish I could go back in time and not attend. There are no grant or scholarship options, they are very disorganized and don't explain things well. Felt like I was teaching myself most of the time. Just look elsewhere.

I was a student here and finished my degree in 2022. While the instructors and education were decent, please be mindful of financial aid. I am a veteran and submitted my DD214 to receive the veteran discount and in the beginning, they said everything looked good. Then the last month of my degree, all of the sudden there was something wrong with my DD214 (wrong copy). So I provided that copy, then all was good. Then the last week of school, I get a call that they cannot honor the veteran discount... Read More

Degree: RN to BSN

I am taking the LVN to BSN program. As an LVN I think that the program feels more like a refresher of what I already know. I find it "busy" but not hard. What I mean is that we have a lot of easy assignments that take time to complete. Most test are to the point and not difficult if you study. I find myself only reviewing the content but not really studying hours on end as other students report. Teachers are nice but not your friend, if that makes sense. My LVN program seems a lot harder that this... Read More

I graduated with BSN in 2022. I took most pre-recs at WCU and all nursing core classes . Previously I had attended UCLA and before that I went to Santa Monica College so I have a reference to compare WCU to. WCU is a school for those who want to finish their nursing program quickly ! The program is easy and anyone can pass pretty much if you put some work into it. The only complaint I had was that most student were not serious about studying. The acceptance rate is very low at WCU so almost anyone... Read More

This school being a for-profit university is really out to get your money! Super expensive and offer no grants or scholarship.. you dependent on financial aid and they try to get you to sign and get on parent plus loans. The classes are a joke. I’ve seen so many promote it but no worth it. They have you take unnecessary classes.. I already have a bachelors and thought I’d get a second and major in nursing. Big mistake coming here.

Please read these reviews because they are not coming from a bad place. This school really is bad. Often times the professors don't show up for clinicals and you are there not knowing what to do. This happened to me twice during different terms. The school and staff don't communicate or return texts, emails, calls. The staff and dean are not helpful, even when it's something as simple where do I do if a teacher doesn't show. The worst part of the situations that come up is that as a student you are... I am not just saying this either - this is the WORST university, not just for nursing school, but in general. The administration does not offer any support; everything is last minute and under communicated. The professors have no regard for their students in terms of teaching the information in a comprehensive manner. It is all self taught. Instructors in GE will help you succeed but when you get into CORE, it's the complete opposite. It really is a waste of time and money where financial aid will get back faster to you than academic advisors. The schools focus is on passing NCLEX so none of the other work matters. Deans will give instructors too much discretion in class. Instructors come from other jobs where there's no consistency. They don't reply to e-mails or calls and barely use the Remind app. They expect active learning to be... Read More

This school is a waste of time and money. If you are going to this school, you will regret it later. This school is a waste of time and money. For one class, they charged you $800.The passing grade is C+. They give you a lot of assignments in ati and many projects, but all of this does not provide you grade. It is a waste of time rather than preparing for tests. Please save yourself and do not attend this school.

This school traps you with false promises. The staff turnover is ridiculous. The staff talks to adults like children. This is my 3rd degree I know how school works no need to talk down on your students/customers. They highly recommend you quit your job. They require you to have health insurance however they don’t provide you with any resources to find affordable care. When asked about help they said to refer to student hand book.
