Degree: Special Education

WGU is a well-structured, supportive university. There is someone to assist you with your academic needs every step of the way. It is nice to know that you are supported at all times. Having online courses is convenient for the busy adult. As busy adults, we need to know that we are supported to help us remain on track.

I was able to transfer my associates degree and then get 2 years of school done in 6 months! Totally have to be a self starter but it got the job done and helped me get a great job. Considering going back to get my masters degree here soon! I would highly recommend this school.

Degree: Accounting

I attended WGU for about a year under the BS accounting program. I completed 12 classes towards that degree, then I made it to Inter. Acct 1 and it stopped me right in my tracks. I have an associates in accounting and work in accounting. However, given my past experience and education for accounting I was not able to make it through that program. I have now dropped out and will try to go back for the BSMG degree next year. So is WGU a good school? Overall I was pleased with the school. I hate I wasn't... Read More

Degree: Healthcare Administration

Highly respected degree! Got accepted to a masters program at a prestigious B&M school in Baltimore Maryland but chose WGU and the results speak for volumes. Went from making 40K pre degree to 100K+ in just over 18 months since completing my MBA in healthcare management! Of course the degree is only a part of the story as I have a ton of experience but you must have that piece of paper to hang on the wall. Don't fool yourself get it done.

Degree: MBA

Excellent school and program! WGU is a fantastic opportunity if you are a self-starter, organized, and enjoy learning online. However, if you can't set your own deadlines and stick to them of if you like a lot of prompting, WGU might not be the best school for you. I already had two degrees from a large public university before getting my MBA, so that previous college experience is my frame of reference for evaluating WGU.

Just admitted to WGU and couldn't be more happy about the process. My admission counselor, CJ S, has been awesome. He was very consistent with contact and extremely helpful. Made the process of submitting documentation, taking tests, and completing the admission from a - z very painless. Im excited to begin classes in December!

Degree: Software Engineering

I'm a self taught computer programmer, and there were only a few times I "needed" a degree in life. One of those times was when Google turned me down in the early 1990's (pre-IPO) because I didn't have a degree.... I should have learned my lesson then. I was also turned down for a CTO position because of the lack of a degree... therefore, I decided to get my act together and knock out my bachelors. I figured this can't be that hard, because I've been a computer software engineer for years. Well,... Read More

This university is a JOKE. They baby you and have to call you once a week for the first term and bug you so bad if you miss a call. Anita is extremely unprofessional and told me I didn't take my schooling seriously. Excuse me, but I PAY for you to have a job. I had family health issues that got me behind a bit and this place is not sympathetic at all. The courses are difficult and the tests have NOTHING to do with what you read and study for hours every single day. Would never recommend this place... Read More

Degree: MBA in Healthcare Management

I researched several online MBA Healthcare Management programs and chose Western Governors University for its low cost, high academic standards and flexibility. WGU was the right choice for me as I am a highly independent learner and prefer to go at my own pace through classes. I was also working full time in a demanding position so it was wonderful that when needed, I had the ability to set my studies aside. The program can be completed in 1-4 terms, depending on how much time can be dedicated to... Read More

Degree: Business Administration

WGU is an amazing university providing the competency-based education where a student can proceed at their own pace which can be fast or slow depending upon the learning style of the student. I completed 3 classes in a few months. The online interface is easy to use, the student mentor is always helpful and the course mentors are willing to provide as much assistance as needed.

Degree: MBA

I had an excellent experience with WGU. The courses were very challenging. I transferred credits from credits in from 3 other hard-sided universities in Colorado and Montana due to life and interest changes. I ended up finishing both my bachelors in Business Management and my MBA through WGU because it was so high quality. I had incredible access to course mentors, and engaged in online lectures and interactive learning sessions. Both of my student mentors were incredible, and the school was very... Read More

WGU is a wonderful institution. Initially when I started my search I was a little skeptical of enrolling in an online university but after researching WGU's credibility and accreditation I was satisfied enough to start there. The program has been exceptional. I had the best student mentor and course mentors. The faculty was always there when I needed and many times went beyond what they needed to help me. It was like I was learning one on one. This program is phenomenal for people who are disciplined... Read More

Degree: Accounting

I would not do this school because they cannot get my accommodations right and tried to find other alternatives. The only solution is that I retake the test again, which was not helpful and did not resolve the issue. The test proctors are a joke and do not follow rules especially when it comes from disabled students. This school is unstructured and does not respect their students especially when it comes to accommodations. If you do not believe me, try it out for a while and you will see the truth.... Read More

Overall the work wasn't bad, just time consuming. There are lapses in communication. Frequently I would start a term and download all the pertinent course outlines and rubrics and etc and then there would be changes midterm and no notification that changes were made to your current term classes. My mentor was great! Please hope that you never have to deal with records. They are incompetent!!!!!

I highly recommend this college. The classes are tough, but they are completely online and the all of the mentors are fantastic! You can pretty much ago at your fast, faster or slower. I will have finished a degree that normally takes 4 years in about 1 and a half. I get replies to my e-mails in a resonable amount of time and when I leave a voicemail, they always call me back. They have great scholarships and accept financial aid such as the Pell Grant.

I really loved WGU's Bachelor of Information Technology program. I transferred in an Associate degree, accelerated, got caught up by life and still finished in the listed 2 1/2 years. A few points: - This is self driven (but not independent) learning. You must have the drive. Your mentor is there to help you figure things out and keep you on track. The course mentors are like teachers, interaction is available, 1 on 1 or in webinars and cohort learning. - The degree is respected by employers, and... Read More

I was enrolled in WGU, Business Administration with a focus in Human Resources about two years ago. The courses were tough, and my mentors were good. I was in the process of re-enrolling, but this process is so much more difficulty and time consuming. Financial aid is very unresponsive to phone calls and emails. They re-request information, thereby pushing your start date 30 days at a time. The first time around, I was able to start classes in 45 days. This time is was going to be 120 days. I have... I am just writing to warn people about the radically different admissions process the school uses, this is not a traditional University. They will not evaluate transcripts until you have received your degree and it is on the transcript. There is no way to evaluate the school and know that you will be accepted until you have already finished your previous Bachelors program long after you would have been admitted into any other traditional master's program. I had one counselor who didn't answer an... Read More

Best value in education, hands down. Regionally accredited, not for profit school - meaning it is not a diploma mill - they by law do not turn a profit. I finished 50 credits in 5 months to earn my bachelors degree- one month later I was hired by the company I had been a contractor at for over 3 1/2 years. The degree is viewed positively by employers. Loved my mentor, loved the ability to work as fast as possuble. I started back in May to earn a MBA degree and I am over half way done already. Very...
