Winthrop has a nice campus with a lot of green fields. The buildings are old, but some are updated, and there is very little parking for commuters. Winthrop focuses a lot on dorm life, and as a commuter, I felt like an odd one out. The classes I took were mostly good, I only experienced two negative professors during my entire degree. The cultural credit requirement felt silly to me though, as it did not really affect my cultural viewpoint. I do wish there was more security/security did something... Read More

College is a very important part of emerging adulthood. College truly prepares you for what you will handle as an adult, both in your professional and personal lives. Take courses that challenge you...make you think. Take advantage of every opportunity offered...you won't get nearly as many as you will in college. Get involved, even if you live off campus...I really wish I had been more involved. Use the time to enjoy the last years of "being a kid."

It was a great school, but I mainly chose it because it was close to home.

Winthrop University is great for those seeking a small-mid size school, with excellent curriculum and professors. Rock Hill has a small-town feel but you are only 15-20 minutes away from Charlotte. The campus on Winthrop is beautiful and one of its best attributes.

Winthrop University offers a very diverse set of Psychology classes. Most students in the psychology program do intend on continuing in a graduate program and professors are very helpful in understanding that. Most courses are rigorous, but definitely prepares you for any graduate program. Professors are very helpful and personable, especially the department head.

Overall great experiences while I was at school. The professors were deeply invested in how you did on a day to day basis and were always available to help when needed. Past the curriculum, I don't feel like every situation in the career field I was prepared for. That is the one thing I think they need to improve at least in my area of study. Other than that, I was very happy with my choice of attending college at Winthrop University

Winthrop university's degree program was a very rigorous and expensive program. In the end it was worth it. The staff was always there to help and the class sizes are small enough that the professors can focus on each student as necessary. They also have an academic success center where students can get extra help if they need it. I learned how to push myself and manage my time. I ended up doing better than I ever thought I could.

I am happy to say that the education I am receiving at Winthrop University is stellar. I have had several conversations with passionate, intellectual educators and future educators. We have discussed our views on the current state of the American education system and our plans for our future classrooms. We have shared resources that have enhanced our learning and teaching experiences including texts, videos, and other multimedia. I believe that these conversations have helped me create a strong teaching... Read More

The School Psychology program at Winthrop University is a rigorous program that is well worth the challenge. I would consider the program at Winthrop to be the best on the east coast. The professors expect a lot out of their students, but it brings out the best in each student. Winthrop's campus is full of beautiful architecture. The buildings have so much history to teach the students. The campus is large but all of the buildings are within a close radius of one another to make transitioning from... Read More

Winthrop has a very diverse student population as well as degree options. There were students varying from a music or theology major to chemistry and computer science. I was an athlete at Winthrop and enjoyed everything about it. I still keep in contact with some of my professors because they really are there to encourage you to follow your dreams. I chose Winthrop because of how safe the campus made me feel and how friendly and inviting everyone was. I felt right at home at Winthrop.

I received a BA from Winthrop University in History. The classes were well structured with realistic expectations. Professors were easily accessible, and most were excited about teaching. Access to information was great, on campus and through the internet. Librarians are staffed and easily approachable. The databases are up to date and have almost limitless acceptable information. Campus was always active, and the surrounding town had stuff going on if you decided to go and look for it. All and all,... Read More

Wonderful college. Beautiful campus. At the time that I waqs going to class, the MBA program was taught completely at night. It was designed so that students could continue to work at their full-time employment and get their education at the same time. Perfect for me.

Winthrop University has a small music department but the quality of instruction and musicianship from of the student is just as good as any of the large Universities such as University of South Carolina, and Furman University. The professors are very caring, and knowledgeable of their subject matter. Winthrop's location also adds to the education experience. Rock Hill, SC is located in an school district that has great band programs and is close to Fort Mill, SC, home of the Carolina Crown Drum and... Read More

The summer of 2015, I was technically only home temporarily. I had already purchased a one-way ticket back to Madrid, to return to my teaching position as an English teacher. But something told me I couldn't return to Spain without first speaking with a graduate advisor at Winthrop; while I enjoyed traveling and living abroad, I had an unabated feeling that I needed to visit Winthrop when I returned. That intuitive feeling was right. After meeting with that graduate advisor, I felt inspired. Career... Read More

The class times worked very well with my work schedule at the time. My professors were very knowledgeable and supportive. However, I do not think I received a lot of help in finding a better job after graduation. Also, since I obtained my undergraduate degree at the same institution, many of my classes seemed to be an extension of the undergrad classes that I already took with some of the same professors.

Pros to my program is the fact that it is a weekend program which benefits full time employees like myself. The professors are always available when you need them. The program is affordable. Cons are the fact that there isn't a lot of scholarship money offered for graduate school programs at Winthrop. Only loans.

The professors are phenomenal and easily accessible. The MSW Weekend Program offers working professionals an opportunity to earn their degree while continuing their careers. I love the "empowerment practice" focus of their program instead of being pigeon-holed into micro or macro social work like some other universities.
