Degree: Counseling

Adler University is a graduate school with locations in both Chicago, Illinois and Vancouver, British Columbia. While I cannot speak to the location in Vancouver, Adler's location in Chicago is in the heart of the city and provides an opportunity to grow and learn within a thriving metropolitan community. Adler is a school that focuses on the works of Alfred Adler, an austrian psychiatrist who was praised for his "community" driven psychology. Just as Alfred Adler focused on the community, so does... Degree: Counseling

My graduate program prepares me to take the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) exam. I am very interested in the intersection of metal illness and addiction and already have my Addictions certification. My instructors have been accessible and I feel the classes have a direct application to real life n the field. With each class, I feel more prepared to be an effective counselor.

Degree: Counseling

I attend Adler University and I am working to receive my masters in counseling specializing in sports and health. The program that I am a part of has given me the opportunity to work with all different types of people in unique settings. In addition to your course work during the first year the students take part in a social justice practicum. This opportunity allows one to work in the community and advocate for social justice. The second year of the program continues to help develop the students... Read More

Degree: Counseling

This is a unique campus, it is located on the 16th floor of a Chicago high rise with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Another aspect of this university is its dedication to social justice and community outreach. If you are wanting to make an impact on people's lives and receive a multicultural educational experience than Adler is the place for you!

Degree: Counseling

Adler University has all of the right intentions. Due to the University being private, there are some areas in the financial department that can be quite frustrating. It is also a toss up of the quality of professor you will receive. I have had the most growth in areas of personal affairs, social justice, and professional education that I have yet to experience in my life. On the same note, there were a select few professors who do not support the same social justice agenda and learning experiences... Read More

Degree: Counseling

The pros of my graduate program are the core faculty members are very dedicated to their students and work hard to make sure everything is in order. The administration at Adler, however, is quite different: many of them become easily frustrated, make decisions that do not help students to succeed, and do not have enough network availability for all enrolled students to achieve education requirements (especially for practicums/internships). Schedules are somewhat flexible, but the programs are small... Read More
