Capella is a sister school of Strayer University, which I also attended. The courses you take are at your own pace done weekly. The courses are rather tough and some of the professors can be challenging to work with, but it is a decent school. I do wish they had more scholarship opportunities.

Capella was a really amazing School, in the end I chose a different path, and an currently pursuing another degree after waiting almost a year looking for a job in my field of choice. I loved my instructors at Capella, and I had no problems with most of them. The staff was all around amazing to work with. I used Disability services to help me achieve my highest GPA in both traditional and Post-secondary school and also became a member of the NSLS Chapter and ICMA chapter all while learning more about... I attended Capella University for my Bachelor's and Master's Degree. I enjoyed Capella for the online learning platform. I liked the was the Flexpath was geared towards competency based grading and gave you multiple attempts to get things right. The masters program had 1 virtual class you attended weekly and then usually an assignment, discussion board post, and a quiz based off the readings. I honestly miss being in school, I enjoyed learning with Capella and all they had to offer

I believe that this university has provided me with opportunities that I wouldn’t have had if going to an in person school, I am able to focus on myself throughout school while also working and providing for my family and really having a great work life balance

Great education. My dissertation experience was less than great due to a advisor who dropped out mid way through my process and the new person had a lot to catch up on. Not easy to complete an online degree, while working full time, but the challenge was worth it.

I really enjoyed my time with this school. the flex path for my master's degree program was really helpful in allowing me to complete my courses on my time, and much faster than a traditional path. It made the overall cost much cheaper too, which was good for me with borrowing money for it. highly recommend

Capella University offered a convenient way to pursue a graduate degree on my owm schedule. Classes were fully online, the material was readily available through the courseroom. There were no Zoom classes. You can conveniently take 2 classes at once until you reach your capstone course. Most instructors were helpful and responsive. Overall, I had a good experience at Capella and graduated with both my MS in Psychology and DBA.

The worst experience I have ever had. My first class was kicked out of a class because I didn't set target due dates. Was never mentioned nor did it say in my class instructions that this was mandatory to stay in the class. My first advisor was awful and not helpful so I requested a new one. Got through all my classes until my doctoral project classes started, including wrote a whole paper about my proposed project that was noted by the professor for that class as being a great project idea. I started... Read More

My experience with Capella has been a huge journey. While studying psychology, my opinions have drastically changed as I discovered a new faith in Jesus Christ. However, my professors have been understanding of this. The school has supported me in pursuing my individual interests, and each class feels like it is growing me as an individual.

I began my program at Capella University in March of 2025 after completing my bachelor's at another university 3 years prior. Being an online student helps me balance my work and personal life. My advisor checks in to make sure everything is going smoothly. Professors are great as well.

This school is no good! Please Capella states that professors will grade and return work within 2 business days most professors did follow this when it came down to my last 2 classes, I took both at the same time, I completed my capstone project and still had not received feedback and grades for my assignments in the other course. When the billing session ended all my work was turned in with no more classes to take however they told me I still had to pay for a whole new billing session just so I... Read More

Most professors give no guideline on their requirements, forget APA style and citations because every professor states differently and you have to change the format in each class or your dinged. You are doing a lot of assignments blindly. There's been some professors that have literally told me that I needed to include information that I had to highlight and show them I had already included. A lot of these professors don't even read through your assignments.

Please don't let this university ruin your whole educational goals the way they have mine.

This school is horrible. The professors are awful and don’t follow the rubric when grading. You have an academic coach who is worthless and is never able to help you do anything. I should have listened to my coworkers and not gone here. Total waste of time and money

the rn to bsn and they took more than a month to approve my site giving me the run around made me waiste a whole month without taking any classes just to pay for another semester worth of 3,500 in fees. I will be looking into getting a lawyer because this is a ridiculous amount of waste of money and time. I hope this school closes down and everyone from the AA team looses their employment.

Do not go to this school it will ruin your life! They withdraw students from their programs without warning or explanation! They tell you to appeal the decision, make you wait over four months for them to read your appeal, and then deny the appeal. This has happened to many many students. They do not even read the appeal because the final reasons for withdrawal had nothing to do with the original Withdrawal.Read on Reddit for further details

They will have to pay for things without warning. Asked for transcripts. I paid for them and they would not accept them from the school because they were not password protected even though it came from an official email. Had I known that I would’ve paid to send the. Through regular mail. It was a complete waste of time and money.

The flex program is not flexible. You have to submit work every 14 days so if you complete everything but the paper for each assessment, you have to turn it in within the 14days because doing research does not count.
Finical aid is ridiculous. I’m now waiting a month for them to process paperwork and send the finical aid money. They are bugging me for payment but they can’t be bothered to process paperwork in a timely manner. It’s hours on hold over the phone, weeks for response... Read More

STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY!

1- From the very start, their terrible rude enrollment counselors who would hang up on you for asking basic questions and don't return calls or emails in a timely manner if ever which ended up delaying my enrollment 3 months more than the pre-planned classes start date
2- The staff and even the supervisors of said staff talk the talk but don't and won't walk the walk .. very unprofessional environment all around.
3- low quality of education especially for a graduate program. It... Read More

Capella University is very misleading when it comes to finances. I enrolled in the FlexPath pending FAFSA completion. However, due to taxes, I could not complete FAFSA in time. My advisor said it was no big deal, I would be dropped from my classes and could apply again once my FAFSA was complete. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for thousands of dollars, and for a class I did not participate in! Capella's staff is unprofessional, and, in my opinion, unqualified! I will always regret pursuing my degree here! If I could go back and start again, I would! Capella is not only unhelpful administration wise, the instructors are barely even involved in the courses in my experience. They completely disappear after putting fear into students about finding a site based learning practicum and internship. Basically, Capella makes the process as confusing as possible then doesn't respond for 2-10 days on email, only to give some kind of vague instruction that means nothing. Then you have to wait 2-10 days longer, all the while they are not flexible in any way... Read More
