If you are the type of student that needs to be constantly told what to do, then I do not recommend DeVry. I also don't recommend it to those who make excuses for not learning or to those who make excuses for not seeking the information they need to know for their chosen career. I took the Game & Simulation Programming program from DeVry and at the time it was in it's infancy. I think they were trying to iron out all of the details and gather industry connections to properly define and structure the program. So because of the timing I didn't think it was a great experience for the money. With that being said I was involved in a lot of meeting with the University to provide feedback and constructive criticism so I know they were trying to make it a success. So unless that... Maybe campus is better than online, but I would not suggest going to this school online at all. They promise you a lot of things to include help, tutoring and if you ever have an issue to help resolve it. From experience I can personally say this could not be more of a bigger lie on earth. Will start with problems in the classroom. You can call your student adviser team at any point for help and file a complaint or concern. Second if your military stay far far far away from this college. I filled out all my VA paper work two months ahead of time before attending this school and all of a sudden a bill in the mail for tuition. Concerned I call the school and say well I have not received my house allowance yet from the VA and also I am now getting bills from you. They tell me something was missing from the paperwork and that they never submitted it. They also inform me there is nothing they can do at this point and I am stuck with the bill. Amazing how that works, anyway this schools curriculum is a joke as well. Can anyone tell me why one would need psychology and physics for computer programming? Last but not least if you do still decide to enroll into this school be prepared for every paper to be plagiarized. This is by far the most annoying thing in the world from this school everything and I truly can say everything in this school they will say you plagiarized even if it is an opinionated question that is your sole opinion. Ex. What is your favorite car color? If you answer black, blue, green etc. Congratulations you have plagiarized and you will get a zero if you do not change it or if you do not cite it. Plagiarizing something is stealing, you can not steal your own opinion. Good luck to anyone who attends, also take a look at the real facts online about how many students actually graduate this school and get a job in that field of study. The biggest problem with Devry is there professors. The professors tend to teach you as a equal coworker, they do not realize that the students are beginners and are not as experienced as them. I took computer classes, some professors set up iconnect lab and did the work with you so they can help you with the assignments, others just used skillsoftware for you to do their work. Problem is the skillsoft software never worked. It would not connect or the instruction to do the lab were never correct.... Read More So it took 3 hours to connect to the software and maybe 8 minutes to do the lab. I have also noticed most of the textbooks and information were outdated so I never even read the ebooks they provide for the class. I also think the tuition is too high for just average education. Average time spent of school work each week for 2 classes is 3 hours. Buyers remorse. Wish I knew before hand it was a profit for school college. The way online courses are taught they could just get rid of the professors anyway, most of them do not do anything but grade your homework.
