IUPUI is a great institution for those who are working as well as going to school. It is getting a great atmosphere on campus with the emergence of more dorms, but it also still maintains the commuter campus feel. The downside is that it is sometimes difficult to get into the classes you need due to the small size of the program.

IUPUI's graduate Museum Studies program has a lot to offer. The program focuses on hands-on community learning with just the right amount of theory to supplement. The classes span a wide breadth of the museum world, so you will come out ready to take on any task. There is also the opportunity to specialize in whatever aspect interests you most. The instructors are all very knowledgeable, most working in museums and teaching at the same time, and they are always willing to give you their time. Another... Read More plus for this program is the location. Indianapolis is home to many museums so there is plenty of opportunity for work, internships, and volunteering. The only real issue I have with this program is the lack of funding. They are a relatively new program and have yet to establish the kind of funding needed to help students cover the cost of tuition. The good news is that this is one of the least expensive museum studies programs out there, so even without the extra funding, it can still be pretty affordable. Overall, I'm 100% satisfied with choosing IUPUI's Museum Studies program for graduate education.
