Kent State University made me feel welcome as a shy person. The counselors were very helpful to me in scheduling my classes and figuring out what major was for me when I was unsure in the very beginning. Most of my classes were applied to my actual major, and if you are dedicated and love your major you will succeed.

Kent State was a very interesting experience. I am from a town about 40 minutes away, and was a good student. I wasn't necessarily sure if I wanted to go to college, but had generous scholarships so I decided to go there.

Covid hit in 2020, and everything changed. Virtual classes were obviously not as engaging, but the professors tried their best, and I can tell they cared about getting us the best education possible. I stayed an extra year to do a work study program, which was genuinely the best decision I made. I made a lot of great friends, had a great experience, and was more well prepared for the workforce.

I wish I picked a more demanding major and picked up some other opportunities, but it is genuinely a good school to go to and gives out a lot of financial aid. Trust me, you do not want to be bogged down in student loans like a lot of other people I know!!

In my four years at Kent State University, I experienced a mediocre education overall. Within my major, connecting with professors was very challenging due to being turned away for wanting to pursue a counselor education versus clinical psychology. A had a rare few courses that challenged me academically and applied to life outside of the classroom. The worst part about attending Kent State was dealing with financial aid repeatedly throughout the semesters due to their many errors and lack of knowledge... Read More

Kent State is a wonderful place full of diversity and courses that truly do prepare you for success. The faculty at Kent State are kind, and extremely intelligent and know what they are doing. In addition to this, the campus dining options are great, the residence hall floor plans are good, and the atmosphere and aesthetics on campus are breathtaking.
