Excellent Curriculum aimed at preparing you for the medical field. Excellent resources and research opportunities. Faculty great at teaching. Very good residency match rate. Located in a safe neighborhood with adequate housing. Good financial aid. They are currently working on increasing diversity of students.

NYUSOM puts you in the middle of New York City and gives you lots of opportunities to meet doctors at many stages of their careers, new people, and gain new experiences. But it also leaves a lot up to the independent student and doesn't necessarily offer a lot of support freely. It is also a fairly competitive environment.

NYU is a fun school in the best location compared to all the other medical schools in New York City. The faculty really care about teaching and do a good job with the curriculum. Whatever it is you want to do in the field of medicine, you can find that opportunity here at NYU. It tends to attract a younger student population and there are many social events. For students who know what career path within medicine they would like to pursue, the three year MD pathway is an incredible opportunity.

I honestly could not have asked for an overall better medical school experience.

Pros: Great curriculum with lots of early clinical exposure, great teaching facilities, taking Step 1 after the clinical year, great location, friendly students and very accessible faculty Cons: Sometimes the curriculum moves a little too fast (but secretly this is a pro), there have been some IT problems but those have usually been resolved on time

Pros - Great location - Excellent teaching hospitals - Innovative curriculum w/good amount of time for electives Cons - Cost of attendance

I have truly loved my experience at NYU med so far. The fact that everything is pass fail is great and has allowed me to have a life outside of medical school. The workload is challenging yet manageable and everyone truly does work together and wants to see each other succeed, while still striving to do their best. The absolute best thing about NYU is our awesome location in NYC and our close proximity to so many great neighborhoods.

Pros: Its a great program. It challenges you academically and is a perfect blend of health and law. Cons: Its expensive.

The nurturing environment of the school and the supportive faculty makes this school a perfect institution to grow as a future physician.

Pros: 1. Teachers are very helpful 2. The educational opportunities are awesome Cons: 1. Students are pressured to maintain A's 2. Very limited diversity

Fantastic education available- wide range of patient population at the different hospitals (Bellevue public hospital, VA hospital, and Tisch private hospital)
