FYI- Beautiful campus but be aware that they do not work with disabled students. They deny even physical accommodations for students with physical disabilities. Do your research! My daughter loves it there, but here we are in October after she started in August and they even denied her doctor’s request of use of an elevator.

I had a great experience at NAU. The cost was reasonable and they provide a high academic quality and demanding program. I always felt supported and had a great experience with the administration too. Overall I fell NAU is a very good option for education.
In the online Liberal Studies program, I had to write an academic paper per lesson, per module. SoI had to write an average of 7-10 papers per class. This allowed me to become very familiar with researching and getting deeper into subjects. I particularly... Read More

My time at NAU was invaluable. I chose NAU for its smaller size and beautiful campus in Flagstaff. I enjoyed the layout of the campus, the sizes of classes, and almost all of my professors were top notch. The Flagstaff environment makes for a beautiful college backdrop. There is a real focus on sustainability that I feel is different from schools elsewhere in the country.

I loved attending Northern Arizona University online. I had mostly great professors who ended up informing my own teaching practices/style now (actually READING and RESPONDING to student work, for example -- and our responsibility in shaping, not merely maintaining, the canon). I learned the fundamentals of English literature and then some. I do wish there had been a few more options of electives to take... feels like everyone in my cohort had essentially the same education and I wished I had the... Read More

I really enjoyed attending NAU. Flagstaff is a beautiful city with a small town feel. Summers are amazing. Winters had some difficulties with the snow and getting to some classes but it was nothing too crazy and most of the time professors were understanding. Campus is a comfortable size and the apartment style dorms are nice. They had a lot of scholarship opportunities when I went.

I absolutely loved my college experience and wouldn’t change anything about it. The location was amazing, Flagstaff is a cute outdoorsy town and not the same as the rest of the desert in Arizona but close enough to everything. The coursework was very flexible in terms of what courses I was able to take at what time, and I even was able to graduate early. All of the teachers were fantastic, I worked closely with a lot of them as a TA or student instructor. I highly recommend!

I enjoyed my time at NAU. I did a 90/30 program which was helpful in completing my degree. My employer advised me to seek a degree in the 90/30 program at NAU then I ended up moving. It has been difficult to use my degree without technical experience, I am still glad I obtained it and it has helped me have an edge above other candidates when seeking employment.

NAU is a safe and beautiful campus in Flagstaff Arizona that offers a huge variety of majors and programs appealing to everyone, and is notably more affordable than other state schools in Arizona. The location is very convenient to Phoenix, California, Las Vegas, and the rest of the southwest as well.

Degree: Information Technology

I cannot speak for how the courses are now over 6 years later but when I finished my B.S in Information Technology I was able to pay a flat fee for 6 months and finish as many courses that I could. I enjoyed this style very much as it gave me the freedom to be able to complete the courses in my own time. There was always someone around to help me whenever I needed assistance with anything as well.

I had a lot of fun attending NAU. I lived really close to campus and it was also close to downtown. I felt that I had received a really great education and had really interesting classes that I still talk about today. I had a lot of fun living in Flagstaff and making friends with my classmates. Overall the campus experience was welcoming and there were a lot of resources available!

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Overpriced, limited housing, horrible internet. They admit more and more freshmen without anywhere to put existing students. Good luck getting any classes you need because the internet will stop working :). And just so, so expensive for a school lacking in so many ways.

NAU is a second-rate university. If you are accustomed to a research university, it feels more like a community college. The professors are second-rate also. I had one who taught a class on a subject she had zero familiarity with, but made sure to make googly eyes at all the male grad students, and finally got kicked out for stalking one of them. Of course, being second-rate doesn't stop them from being super stuck up about their tiny careers at a small college in Podunk. The degree program I was... Read More

I am very satisfied with my experience at NAU. My advisor was always there to answer questions. I had the best professors. I like to learn on my own, so I think that is why I enjoyed the online learning environment. I did not mind the reading and writing. I enjoyed reading all of my books. I also love writing essays. I got A's mostly on all of my essays. I also loved doing the discussions. It did not matter to me that the professor was not involved in my learning or the discussions. I didn't want... Read More

Don't wast your time going here, you won't get a good job out of it. Employers see it as a Party School, your degree won't be taken seriously. You might get a job as Telemarketer , waiter, bartender or laborer. Go to a major University if you want a job out of it.

I enrolled in the Computer Information Technology graduate program. What drew me to the program was it was subscription-based where you take as many courses for 6 months. One pro is tuition is cheap & the program was flexible. You can take the courses & submit assignments whenever you want. The bad, it was mostly literature-based. The entire program is all writing papers. No lab or video lectures. How are you supposed to learn anything as technical as IT with no lab?? Each course required 12,000... Read More

Great school with a fantastic staff… I received a degree in education and went on to teach art for 35 years. I have been a very lucky man and have the highest respect for NAU. Thank you to Northern Arizona University for being here for me and I wish the best for all who consider going there.

Here's the thing, NAU at a glance is a fantastic school in a nice town with a great staff among bad ones. But Once you start attending and you face a crisis, such as the pandemic, the school will fail you more than any other school I have attended. Like I mentioned, I have met some amazing staff, and some really do try their best to help you the way they can. But this does not change the fact that the 'student support' NAU likes to brand itself with is false advertising. NAU supports it's students... Read More

joke of a school. They display your name on virtual commencement and then email you a week later saying you didn’t graduate. Avoid at all costs. Every teacher I had through my 4 years failed to provide me adequate instructions and most just seem like they want to get through the semester. They don’t care about your they care about money. Biggest regret of my life going here

Do not go to school here. It’s overpriced and you will not get a job in your field of study. Flagstaff is very expensive and not worth the money to live here. Professors carry their own agendas and the student is not part of it. Your money will be taken from you in a Disneyland fashion and you will be left broke with a degree and no job opportunities as flagstaff is not large and has little industry or future. Unless your a waiter. Veterans are second class citizens.

As beautiful as Flagstaff is, the programs at NAU are probably worse that my high school education. The advisors have no idea what they are talking about and therefore are replaced almost every year. In most cases, the students are smarter than the teachers and have to correct their mistakes in class. Organization is almost nonexistent within the university. If you're looking for a school that will decrease your knowledge and leave you with less brain cells from the time you're a freshman to the... Read More
