Back when I went to the school, it was California University of Pennsylvania. Overall, I had a positive experience at the university. The campus facilities were well maintained, and there were plenty of opportunities to involved through clubs, activities, and intramural sports. The gym was nice, there were a lot of food options available on and off campus, and the location itself was beautiful and enjoyable to spend time in. There were also may resources available to students like a doctors office,... Read More
One challenge was parking. Getting a parking pass could be difficult and expensive. The main options were either a parking garage or the river lot, both which felt far from most class buildings. Aside from that, I felt the campus offered a welcoming environment with a lot of opportunities for students to stay involved and connected, with many resources available to the students.

Originally, I had my reservations about attending a school in the middle of nowhere, basically in a small town, because I was born and raised in the city. I really didn't know why I chose to attend a school at such location, possibly because of the commute from home and how it was about an hour away from home, but I eventually grew fond of it. It was better than I had expected, the people, club and activities are great. I will mostly miss the ones that are gone from the school, but I adapt.

I originally got my associates degree from community college and then went on to get my BSN. I completed my work online and it served my purposes. I can’t say for sure whether a different school would have been better or not since this is the only experience I have. Though I believe higher education should be more affordable, the tuition at this school was better priced than most. Overall. I’m satisfied with my experience for what it was.

I loved attending PennWest Clarion (at the time Clarion University of Pennsylvania): I found the quality of education to be top-tier. I had a lot of amazing professors who went above and beyond for their students. It’s a small campus, which fostered community and the class sizes made it possible to the more one on one attention from professors.

Overall, I am really enjoying my time at PennWest. The classes in my major are challenging, but good, and I find myself being pushed to learn. The perception of others based on my degree and work here at PennWest is very positive, and despite recently merging from into one school from three different schools, I've found everything to be very well organized.
The only issue I have is with advisement. I was told I would be getting an advisor to help me make sure I'm getting through my program, and I... Read More

Pennsylvania Western (Clarion) University was a great, affordable school for me. I have little complaints about any of my professors, they were all incredibly smart and helpful, and wanted nothing more than to see their students succeed. There were ample internship and career opportunities through the school, and the work we did felt meaningful for our future careers. The campus is very nice.

It was a great place to gain an education. I was involved in collegiate swimming at this university, which took up most of my time and shaped the view I have on the school. Overall I felt like I received a well rounded education from this university.

I attended Penn West University through the time period of 2013-2018 and obtained 3 degrees during my time there. I received quality education with the flexibility to have some courses taken online in order to maintain my full time work status. The environment was welcoming and I’m happy with the quality of education I received.

I graduated with honors but felt the degree did not benefit me. My overall rating would be 2/5. Careers services were not very helpful. The instructors and professors were average. The school offered many internships for career advancement. There wasn't much to do at the school.

Rating 2 out of 5 The graduate FNP program is propped up by the educators at Edinboro University. A noticable divide in the educational value of the courses is seen. Self education is an important aspect of the online learning course work. What they don't tell you is that you yourself will have to review every book and HOPE that you have retained the correct information to pass board certification. If you plan push through this endeavor with help from professors, you will be sorely mistaken about... Read More

Clarion as a whole is a good university. However the MSN-FNP program is completely in need of an overhaul. It is VERY disorganized and out of date. Because the program is online, professors simply open classes without changing due dates or old information. Internet links often do not work and are outdated. Constant automatic emails sent out about due dates from years and classes from the past that do not apply and result in massive confusion. No consistency in professors and class requirements. Much... Clarion University's COBAIS provides a great small school experience. Every class I had my professor knew my name, and always would offer help if I was struggling. While I had only one academic advisor, I felt comfortable in meeting with any of my professors to discuss my educational, professional, and life goals. I would highly recommend the International Business seminar they offer. I found this 2 week study abroad to be the most valuable part of my college career

Edinboro is a beautiful and snowy campus that is successful in its ability to educate and prepare students. The campus in considered a budget friendly option especially considering the private options in institutions close by. The campus is continually involving its facilities and the staff although sometimes rough around the edges are amazing and incredibly smart individuals.

Clarion University has a wonderful atmosphere and wonderful professors that truly want you to succeed. Compared to people I know who went to large universities where they were only a number to their professor, I greatly appreciated being personally known by every professor I had. I felt it motivated me to do well, and I could better succeed in my classes. However, due to it being a smaller university, there were not always the resources I would have appreciated. I wanted to minor Spanish and this... Read More

Edinboro has a great design program for those who want to be fiscally conscious and are not able to go the art school route. Though it is a smaller school that is not located in any major city, the professors will go above and beyond to help their students succeed and get their work out. They will do their best to make sure that their students have the adequate supplies and resources to produce their best work and to have portfolios to be proud of and get jobs with after graduating.
