My school really focused on the student and helping us become wholesome and respectful physicians. Without the help of the Deans, faculty and physicians working there, I would not be getting the quality education needed today. From the moment you start, there is always someone there to guide you.

The Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is an incredible institution. Medical school is extremely rigorous but here, the community that RWJMS fosters is absolutely wonderful. We have a diverse student body with many interests that lie outside of the classroom as well as a caring and thoughtful faculty who instruct us. If I could do it over, I wouldn't pick anywhere else for my medical education.

Pros: The school is less expensive for in-state NJ residents compared to most other medical schools in the tri-state area. The faculty and student body are generally helpful and nurturing. Cons: The school is located in Newark, which is not the safest or most ideal area to live in (huge understatement). The Housing Office for the medical school campus communicates poorly with students and is disorganized about assigning rooms.

It's medical school...it's hard. But I couldn't imagine pursuing my medical degree anywhere else. Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is a community that works with you and for you to support you and I really appreciate that.

Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School is providing me with an excellent medical education. The faculty is extremely helpful and accessible, and they take our feedback seriously in order to help improve our courses. I am surrounded by fantastic classmates who will certainly make important contributions to the field of medicine. The one con of the school is the price tag. Although it is a state school, the cost of attendance will leave me in over $200,000 of debt. The cost may influence which... Read More

The best thing about this program - you will learn how to treat some of this country's sickest patients. You will conditions here that you will not see in patients who have access to healthcare. You will see trauma. Overall, this school gives you an incredible platform to become a phenomenal doctor. You will learn how hospitals run, scrub in the OR, deliver babies, and suture wounds. Everything is very hands on - the more you want to be involved, the more you can see and do. If you want to work hard... Read More

The M.D. program's strength lies in its preparation of students as clinicians and its affiliation with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. I truly believe we are better prepared to interview and examine patients in the hospital than many of our peers educated at "Big Name" universities. The cost of living is relatively high for a state school and the surrounding area is not the most conducive to an exciting social life, but the education is worth it.
