Thomas Edison State University took my military training and other school credits and allowed me to complete my Bachelors degree while working full time. The process was easy and made me feel so accomplished. I would recommend this university to anyone looking to attend college online.

TESU has its own system different from other colleges. Do not think your instructor is going to be what you think because its not. In this school they do not call the teachers instructors they call them mentors. If you think your mentor will post videos on youtube on how to do a math problem that is not the case. You are entirely on your own as a self taught school.

I can not say enough good things about this college. It allowed me the flexibility to work a full time job while still having plenty of time for my academics. Class sizes were reasonable and professors were very approachable. I can not think of anything I would change.

Thomas Edison is very proficient in online studies. Some students are even in the military while they are students. Thomas Edison is also more flexible regarding testing out of a subject, submitting a portfolio, and accepting previous coursework taken more than 5 years ago. Thomas Edison has great counseling support and financial assistance.

Horrible. My professor was fine, but they use proctoru for all exams, and proctoru is garbage. Horrible customer service and support. I thought their liberal transfer credit policy would make this school a good choice. It was a horrible choice. No longer attending.

Interestingly, the university does not give out the names of its administrators (as though Google cannot find them). It is impossible to have a civil conversation with staff via voice or chat. It is either circular or condescending. They delayed the response to a grade appeal beyond the 30-day window to file thereby negating it through TESU's inaction. They were able, however, to retain thousands of dollars in tuition that should have been refunded. They will not even let you review your records.... Read More

Great method for secondary education I have earned 19 credits thus far here and it has enabled me to better my knowledge and skills. Sometimes it feel too challenging but with the effort I’ve gotten good grades. I like that there are 12 semesters a year it’s great for a father of two small children. I look forward to completing a degree and I will be proud of the accomplishment I couldn’t have achieved in a traditional setting.

Enjoyed attending TESU, the affordability of degree programs is outstanding. The outcomes after graduation further solidified I had made the right choice attending this university. The 5 courses needed for graduation didn't bankrupt me and the faculty was outstanding helping to complete assignments. TESU has a beautiful campus located close to some nice historical sites. I would recommend this school to anyone wishing to further their education, you can take courses while working full time, courses... Read More

After being treated poorly as a well known SLAC, I got smart and enrolled at TESU. First of all they accepted all my previous credits, let me use Sophia to get more credit, and also accepted my two semesters of foreign studies. I did the 15 units residency and capstone at TESU and the courses were challenging and graded fairly. I doubt I would have finished my degree otherwise. Oh yeah and I also saved thousands of dollars by doing it online.

I thought this was my only option with military credits, but luckily I was mistaken. Having attended in person and online university prior to this, I can reliably say this is extremely poor “education and charged at around $400 a credit hour for you to self teach with a lot of non-value added busy work and a “mentor to remotely grade your work who does nothing else. They say it’s targeted to working adults, but then have policies like every assignment needs to be on a different day, even discussion... Read More

I received my bachelor's degree online from TESU in 2018. My experience was great overall. TESU is an accredited university catered to the military and busy, working adults. When I enrolled, there was an age requirement of 21 that could be bypassed with a special exception request. Highly recommend if you are self-starting, motivated, and able to handle online learning. They accept up to 90 transferred credits, including credit-by-exam such as CLEP, DSST/DANTES, etc. If you are going this route,... Read More

This school is very basic, don’t go here if you’re expecting a specialized category under your major. For example Comm majors may want further study on PR they don’t do that. Its generalized and class options are limited. But it’s a quick easy degree.

I achieved my BSBA (BS in Business Administration) in 2018 and MBA-HRM in 2022 while working full-time and part of the time, being a military reservist. I have to say, my MBA program was far more fulfilling than my undergrad, though I did have some good professors. Logically speaking, it shouldn't have taken an MBA to land a job with the federal government, but here I am. TESU is a good school, but outside of the tri-state (NJ, PA, and lower NY) areas, it's largely an unknown university and so it's... Read More

The school is horrible, the online teachers are 2-5min useless videos from YouTube. The teachers are not available when you needs them. Once they collect your money for the tuition, you are on your own until your next payment is due. It is ridiculous. DO NOT WAST YOUR TIME IN THAT SCHOOL.

TESU is a great school for working Adults, Military and anyone who has the ability to work without a lot of instruction. Basically This is a great online program. I do not recommend it to anyone that has a problem with online schools, this school is not for you, however if you are a person that can accomplish a task with out someone holding your hand all the way through the process, you will do well here. The Mentors will assist you in anyway they can, but again they are not going to spoon feed you... Read More

TESU is for people who are self-directed, with good self-motivation, and who do well working independently from in-person classmates and professors. I realized that online courses require more work and study-time than the traditional spoon-fed classroom environment. Some of the negative reviews are just outlandish, like there is too much work, that you fail if you miss your course exams (well, yeah), and that professors do not check submitted home work and just give passing scores. Never happened... Read More

I have my AA from community college and wanted to finished by BA with the intention of moving on to grad school when my kids were older. I am now concerned that I won't get accepted with a "degree" from a bs school like this. The mentors, when they do bother interacting, have no input as to the syllabus, course content, or tests. Many of them aren't even the ones who grade the tests. They are not, by school policy, allowed to assign extra credit, which is unfortunate, because good luck passing any... Read More

TESU is fine, leaning towards bad. When you take a Midterm/Final, you can't even see your results when you submit your exam. You can see your grade in the grade book, but you can't see how you answered or the correct answers. Also, the proctoring service required to take an exam makes you download spyware onto your computer. Additionally, the professor for a given course has no influence in creating the syllabus or assignments. They can't view any of the exams, so they can't answer any questions... Read More

TESU is a good school where you can earn a degree quickly if you are self-disciplined and motivated. Designed for the working adults or those with competing priorities. You can test out of many of the courses you already know and the school has a generous credit transfer program. The course work is intense but very doable. I would recommend this school to anyone.
