Additionally, I am impressed with the accessibility and responsiveness of the staff members in regards to students' questions and needs. There is a transparent list of contacts provided to each student, along with detailed instructions for the enrolling process. When making decisions about furthering my education, I was initially uncertain about a program that is not held in a traditional "brick and morter" facility. However, I am so very pleased with the UAB online graduate program thus far. As this program was recommended to me from various alumnus, I too would recommend it to any student looking to pursue a graduate nursing degree.

When I started researching graduate level programs in nursing, I knew I wanted to attend an university that offered an online program, ranked highly compared to other schools in the nation, and provided a specialized program for students interested in Mental Health. I selected the University of Alabama at Birmingham for graduate studies in nursing, because they offered a Nurse Practitioner Psychiatric-Mental Health MSN program 100% online and the U.S. news recognized this school as one of the best... In addition, UAB is CCNE accredited, which means the university ensures quality in the graduate nursing program, supports continuing growth, and holds nursing programs accountable in achieving its mission and goals. The program offers flexibility so I can work and complete assignment and relocate if needed. The disadvantages of the program is that I do not get to interact with other classmates, I have to find my own clinical sites, and I have to pay out of state tuition for an online program.

The AMNP program at the University of AL, Birmingham is a fast paced top notch Nursing program that allows post-bachelorate students the opportunity to get paid for what they love doing. The professors understand their students and go out of their way to help. The program prepares their students well for success once they complete their work in classes.
