Though I was a transfer from community college and didn't get the full four-year experience, I feel the time I spent at the University of Florida was very valuable and the education I received was an excellent one, even if I may have some gripes with some of the finer details.
The University of Florida has a beautiful and well-maintained campus with a variety of study spaces, dining options, and other resources to take advantage of. Parking is a difficulty if you aren't living on campus as there's... Read More
I took quite a few engaging and interesting classes during my time at UF, and UF has many professors who are passionate about what they teach and who seem invested in the success of their students. UF's classes are quite rigorous, and I definitely struggled in a few of mine, but I felt for the most part that the courses themselves were "fair" as far as the amount of time I had to prepare for exams and the amount of content those exams covered.
UF is a great place to meet people - even as someone who would call themselves very introverted, I was able to make many good friends during my time there through clubs and other social activities as well as within my classes. There is definitely a lot of school spirit to go around and I felt the school had a strong sense of community.
My main complaints as far as UF goes involve the actual scheduling of classes. Perhaps I was just unlucky, and I know to some extent it is just determined by luck, but it seems like every single semester when it came time to sign up for classes I was placed in a time slot that left me picking at the scraps. I had many awful, awful schedules often with big, awkward gaps between classes, and it seemed very often like there was absolutely nothing I could do about any of it.
Overall, though, I quite enjoyed my experience at UF and look back on it fondly.

The University of Florida is an excellent school. It has a great reputation. Everyone recognizes the name and mascot and is impressed when you say you have attended the school. I was a pre-med student at UF. Unfortunately, a ton of other people were there for the same reason, which made it hard to obtain certain opportunities. There is only one hospital in Gainesville and volunteering opportunities are extremely competitive.

I was a student at the University of Florida from 2021 to May 2024. I graduated with a Bachelors of science in Microbiology and minors in Pathogenesis and Anthropology. I cannot recommend the University of Florida enough. The university was the perfect blend of extremely rigorous studies with a good safe social life. The campus is in a true college town that emphasizes and prioritizes the student experience. The academics are stellar with some of the top professors and academic opportunities in the... Read More

My experience at the University of Florida has been good so far, allowing me to pursue my Bachelor's degree in Biology with a Biotechnology concentration. The college has great facilities, resources, and a strong school spirit. My one complaint would be the large lecture hall classes which feel designed to provide unnecessary stress, but the smaller, more niche classes have been amazing.

I think UF was a fantastic choice for continuing my education. Attending UF really helped me to broaden my horizons and expose me to people of different social, economic and cultural backgrounds. The academics are amazing are they are one of the top ranked public schools in the US. And even if you aren't into sports, attending a game on campus is like nothing else. The atmosphere is incredible.

My time at USF was great! I really liked how the campus looked and the layout. It never really felt like a college campus, which I enjoyed. They have many resources available to students and I tried to take advantage of them all. Most of the professors were great and really cared about their students. I also loved the huge international presence on the campus. Their international program brings in a lot of students so you can really meet all different kinds of people.

I really loved the program at UF for marine science. I learned different aspects of marine life and it made me a more well rounded student within my degree program. This program also allowed the ability to explore different types of classes in and out of the major. In addition, I'd like to thank all the teachers in the program because they are all very passionate about what they teach and it truly shows.

I graduated from the University of Florida with Microbiology and Cell Science B.S. degree. As a pre-medical student with little guidance on how to approach the road to medical school, an early challenge was choosing the appropriate major and degree for me. After extensive research on numerous undergraduate degrees, such as Health Sciences, Applied Kinetics and Physiology, and Biology, I thought that Microbiology and Cell Science would provide a strong foundation of knowledge in immunology, bacteriology... Oh boy, well allow me to start off with saying that I have not attended this university. This is mostly, alright ALL because of the communication from this university is a JOKE for online students! I started out with the whole application and paid the fee. I had a few more steps to my application process, yet I completed everything that was asked of me in a timely manner. I wish I could say the same for the school! I found out that I was accepted into the university by tracking the submission page... Read More

The University of Florida is an incredible college that truly tries to foster the personal and professional growth of their students. As a student interested in joining the healthcare field, I found ample opportunities to become involved in research, shadow healthcare professionals, and engage in clinical and community based outreach efforts. All of these activities were fostered in addition to a world class education that I would not change for the world. The vast majority of professors here are... Read More

The classes I took make me feel prepared to go into the field of study I am pursuing. However, there needs to be improvement in how the classes are taken from Freshman to Senior transitions. I found that there were some classes I took later on in my collegiate career that would've greatly helped myself as a Freshman or Sophomore. The lack of communication between student and counselor is shocking. Not only for my own college but from what I've heard from others. To combat this, I would make biweekly... Read More

UF's Microbiology and Cell Science undergrad program was the perfect stepping stone for my continuing education and career goals. I will stay in the department to obtain my masters and then go on to medical school. I appreciated the devotion of the faculty and staff to the students in the program as well as the quality of education. Every course I took within the department was immensely better than the courses at UF outside the microbiology department.
