Going back to school after a long break was a big step for me, but choosing this university has been very disappointing. The review of my documents was confusing, disorganized, and took much longer than expected. It lasted almost six months, and nothing really happened until I raised my concerns. During that period, I got mixed and sometimes wrong information from different departments.
The transfer credit process was also very disappointing. Out of about 140 credits, only 67 were accepted, and I... Read More
As a returning student, I hoped for support, professionalism, and clear communication. Instead, I felt ignored and had to handle everything by myself. This experience has been so discouraging that I have thought about quitting. I would not suggest this university to other returning students.

Great school. I had many great professors that helped mentor me and really cared about my education. There were some tough classes towards the end of last year which required a lot more study time and the ability to really grasp new ideas but overall i really enjoyed getting my degree through UMGC and would recommend it to anybody.

UMGC (formally UMUC) was great and for the most part quite easy to maneuver. I'm not completely sure what all of these negative reviews are in regards to. I'll make this short and sweet... UMGC is what you make o fit. If you have an issue, reach out to the school, be persistent, take accountability and get your degree(s).

This school is a scam. I'm a military spouse with a deployed husband, mother of 2 and I work full time. The instructors have a late policy that they do not follow. I turned in a doctor's note because I missed 3 days of classes from being in the hospital. I only asked if I could have a one day extension to turn in a project. Of course the answer was no even thought the policy states one letter grade will be deducted for late assignments. Now, I'm in jeopardy of not graduating because of one late assignment... Read More

UMUC is not a bad school, I started with them prior to going active duty. I like the online set up, allowing me to work on my own time. You have to have good time management skills to be successful. I would recommend taking a look at the professors prior to starting classes. Some are not as involved as they should be in the classroom

PICK ANOTHER SCHOOL. UMUC WHO!! I would certainly pick another school if I had it to do over. The professors are either trying to prove something to other staff members or others just don't care. I would rather not give this school another dime of my money but I only have 12 credits left and transferring would mean taking more classes.

Overall, I will have to say that my experience at UMUC has been great. There have been a couple of snags with the financial aid offices, but any problems have been laid out and resolved very quickly. When it comes to financial aid, always be sure that you keep track of it, if anything changes with your GPA or status it can change drastically. The most impressive part of my experience thus far has been the quality of material and instruction. The courses are very interactive and require a lot of your... Read More
