There are a lot of good things about Minnesota. The area immediately around the law school is a bit dead, but transportation is easy to get downtown or to a place with a little more life. If you want something super diverse it isn't going to be Minnesota.

Great teachers + great peers. The atmosphere is excellent and the competition between students is friendly, not cutthroat. Not a big career network outside of the Midwest. The building is dreary because all the classrooms are essentially in the basement.

Minneapolis is a great city to live in and the students and faculty at the Law School are very collegial and helpful. There are plenty of student organizations and outside organizations in the Twin Cities to get involved in and the Law School offers courses in an extremely wide variety of areas. Career Center is what you make of it.

I am extremely happy with my choice to come to law school at Minnesota!

While the law program is not the best, I am certainly getting my money's worth and know I have a better education than most law schools.

Minneapolis is a great city, so the school gets lots of points for that. Depending what you want to do, the career center and network are limited. Some faculty are amazing and accessible and some aren't. Anyone who is looking at the social life rating of law schools should not apply to law school.

 Great faculty (interesting classes, accessible outside of class, etc.), great location, generous financial aid.  Little guidance from the career center, "Law in Practice" program needs a serious overhaul.

The U of M Law School is a great program for pursuing independent opportunities with faculty support.

Love the school. It isn't super competitive. Everyone is nice and supportive. The only down side is if you want to get a job out of state, it is really difficult unless you have amazing grades.

Good place to go to school. The Career Center is awful.

I enjoy the smaller class sizes because professors have more time to respond to students and encourage student participation. What I love the most about my law school is the way the students help instead of hinder each other. We're all there trying to get a good grade, but we aren't sabotaging one another to get it. If somebody can help another classmate out with a "cold call," he or she will.

University of Minnesota Law is a great program in a great city.

Life is nice in the cities, but it is hard to get a job in Minnesota if you are not from here and the degree is not strong enough to make leaving easy.

Really great support system from classmates and faculty and high quality of education

The University of Minnesota Law School is the best law school in the Midwest, where you will receive a quality education. The only con is the lack of real help from the career center, which puts the burden on students to network, network, network.

Pros: Diverse and vibrant city with culture and history and plenty of young professionals. Minneapolis & St. Paul are "livable" cities that are accessible and green. The U offers quality education with professors that are willing to meet and listen to students. Cons: The Career Center does their best to help students but students are largely on their own for obtaining summer and full time employment post-graduation.
