Financial aid needs to learn to communicate. I was misinformed so many times, I'm looking to finish my master's elsewhere because of financial aid! Professors were mostly good. Some were terrible about grading in a decent time. Some liked to put words in your mouth when what you wrote about was IN THE MATERIAL THEY GAVE US!!!!!!!!!!! Some also tested us on stuff that didn't matter to the class.

UNK is a fantastic school. My time at UNK taught me a lot about the world and helped me in my career. The education you get at this university is exceptional. Most of my classes were available online, but that doesn't mean that they are less rigorous than on-campus courses. If anything, the courses are more rigorous online, but all the extra effort is worth it because you are getting a great education.

I am enjoying UNK's online graduate program. The professors are flexible and caring. The coursework is rigorous, enlightening, and highly relevant to my teaching profession. I would recommend this college to anyone pursuing an advanced degree in education.

Pros - accessibility is amazing. Professors and fellow classmates are always available to lend a hand. Cons - Student Affairs is going all online. This is a pro and a con because more people can work the program no matter where they are. Con because the online will not give the students the counseling background they need for this area in person.

The pros of my graduate program are the helpful information they are providing for me to succeed, teachers and staff that are caring, helpful and knowledgable along with the flexibility for me to take classes online. The con of my program is the difficulty to receive financial aid grants and scholarships.

The biggest pro is the relationship you build with the faculty and staff. The graduate program is a very personal setting, where they want you to succeed.

I earned my undergraduate degree from UNK in 2005 and could not imagine pursuing my graduate degree any other place. The faculty is amazing and so helpful and the online classes are challenging and rewarding.

You have a chance to really get to know your classmates and instructors. Both of which you will see throughout your entire program. The city provides many internship opportunities if you choose not to do a thesis. The classrooms were recently outfitted in conjunction with the brand new Student Wellness Center. Kearney is a beautiful city, but rentals and groceries can be pricey. Parking on campus is often limited.

The flexibility of an online graduate program is wonderful for a busy teacher and father who is pursuing an advanced degree! As a con, there is little assistance with the rising cost of grad credits.

A pro of my graduate program is that it is all online so I can complete it while I'm teaching. A con is that I'm not able to interact with teachers and classmates face-to-face.

I feel that the graduate program at UNK is very easy to follow. I am able to schedule my classes out from the time I started all the way to my projected graduation date. I enjoy that the whole program is online. I teach and live in New Mexico and I get to go to school where I want to and take classes where I want to through UNK. It's easy to get in touch with my professors and advisers, and they always respond in a timely manner. The downfall of not living in the place I also go to school in, is... Read More
