I have been satisfied with the rigor and relevance of the general education and elective courses in the program. However, upon entering the dissertation phase, my experience has been significantly different and disappointing. Throughout the program, I have performed well academically. When I began my first dissertation course, I understood this phase to be structured in a way that would guide students through the dissertation writing process by providing formative feedback on assignments to support... The follow-up after my initial request was in a timely manner. Although I did not start on the first date, the enrollment advisor kept reaching out to me. Once I was ready and got back in touch with the enrollment advisor, she assisted me with getting the requested documents processed and me enrolled. Once I got enrolled, there have been follow-ups and check-ups on my well-being and progress. I like how on my homepage, it continues to encourage me to keep going, along with receiving encouraging text... Read More

The professors offered great insight and were very knowledgeable in my area of concentration. I would highly recommend for individuals seeking to earn their doctorate.
I would also suggest to use all the services library, counseling to name a few. .

The University of Phoenix is a great way to continue your education. The advisors and facilitators are compassionate and work with you if you keep the line of communication open to what is going on in your life. Most teachers get back to you within 24 hours if you message them.

University of Phoenix is a great institution that offers a great amount of support. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They honestly want you to succeed and will not stop with providing you with the tools to be successful. Staff members even maintain contact with you after you have matriculated to ensure that they have done all that they could to help you! Great school!

It's been frustrating to have courses added to the program after you've already started. If the program indicates a certain number of credits for completion, the university should not later be allowed to add courses to one's course load. It prolongs the graduation date and adds to the expenses of the program.
Hi Lalanecy, we're concerned to learn about your experience and we'd like to look into this. Additionally, we also offer our Savings Explorer option for students to potentially save time and money on their programs. If you're interested in learning more and sharing more about your experience, please send us an email to UOPXSocial@phoenix.edu. Thank you.

TL:DR DON'T DO IT! The program is great but they are going to treat you like a step-child while taking your money! They are the largest FOR-PROFIT University in America, they are only interested in the money you're paying! The content and design of the program was rigorous but I still wouldn't recommend the program to anyone. I would reiterate other's comments regarding the schools money-centered mindset. The financial aid department is a hot mess. My financial advisor yelled at me because I wanted... Read More

The University of Phoenix is almost everywhere, which makes it ideal for a single working mom. I had great instructors and it could be a good fit for people who have limited time and don't want to sit in a brick and mortar style classroom. You must have the drive and initiative to get the job done.

I am currently enrolled in my doctoral program and primarily online environment. The program is rigorous and not an easy task to pass through. You will have to use the same level of professionalism, knowledge, research and rigor as with any doctoral program. Actually, I have talked to many students from other universities who went through a doctoral programs, and they agree that the University of Phoenix is extremely organized and rigorous concerning the program and requirements to complete. I have... Read More

University of Phoenix allowed me the opportunity to pursue my dream of going back to school while providing a flexible schedule. The rigor of the academics has aided me in my current position to address various needs in my classroom as well as prepare me for future successes. The Doctoral program as a whole allows you to work in professional teams with people from diverse backgrounds. I would recommend this program to anyone seeking to gain their Doctoral degree.

As a Doctoral Student working on my Dissertation, I have found the University of Phoenix continues to meet my educational needs. My Dissertation Committee is comprised of three Doctors of Education, who are well suited to help guide me towards successfully joining them in the same field. Horrible college to attend online. The enrollment is consistently low causing them to cancel classes on a regular basis. Their attendance policy sucks because they expect you to post stupid responses to posts 2 days a week. Such a waste of time. Stay away from the University of Phoenix.

University of Phoenix would be much better if it didn't cost so much, there was an alternative to the dissertation in the doctorate program, and they gave more financial support.

Interesting comments from everyone. Here is my take. The degree is "fine" -- but it is what you make out of it. Reading everything about UOP is concerning -- but I worked 4 years and 4 months on the degree and I do have a diploma. My company recognizes the college and, fortunately, most of my contacts also recognize the college. I do understand those that have not had success with the degree -- but I, personally, have not had a problem with the degree.

The pros of my graduate program is that I learned information and skills that can be used in the real world and I networked with individuals who can assist me in achieving my goals The con of my doctoral program is that I can take longer to complete depending on the circumstances. Also the demands of the programs can cause students to quit and not graduate.

Although the school (University of Phoenix) has some good support staff for their graduate program, there mentors are horrible. I have went through three mentors since I have been at University of Phoenix doctoral program. The first mentor did not respond appropriately to my proposal. At times, it took him three to four week to return my paper - if he responded at all. My second mentor did not want to provide any guidance for me when I was out of class working on my proposal.
