How We Rank "Most Affordable" Schools

%%YEAR%% Most Affordable Online %%LEVEL_NAME%% in %%PROGRAM_NAME%% Badge

The OnlineU research team manually collects and verifies tuition data for every school on our lists, ensuring you see accurate, up-to-date costs whether you're pursuing an associate, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program. To qualify, schools must offer fully online degrees, hold institutional accreditation, and have verifiable enrollment data through the National Center for Education Statistics. While some of our rankings include partner schools, every school is evaluated using the exact same criteria.

We prioritize schools that offer a consistent tuition rate across programs at the same degree level, so you're not caught off guard by unexpected price differences between majors, and for graduate programs we go a step further by individually calculating program costs since credit requirements and fees vary widely.

Affordable Online Management Associate Degrees: A Data-Driven Analysis

An online management associate degree is built to help you step into frontline leadership and operations roles — often faster and at a lower cost than a four-year degree.

Across the management associate programs in this list, you’ll see a consistent focus on practical business fundamentals (management, communication, and day-to-day operations), plus career enhancements that can make an online associate degree feel more job-ready.

Some schools lean into specialization early.

PSC hosts an online AS in Business Administration with concentrations like Entrepreneurship, Healthcare Administration, Insurance, and Marketing. IT also has a Supply Chain Management track that can lead to roles such as strategic sourcing, purchasing and inventory, logistics and distribution, and production planning.

Other programs layer in credentials and microcredentials

SCC has a Project Management/Lean/Six Sigma certificate as part of its online AAS.

Several associate programs also create clear “next step” momentum for those with a career lens.

Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) embeds an internship into its online business management AAS and highlights 65+ transfer partners.

If you’re pursuing an online management associate degree mainly to keep costs down, the list above shows a clear pricing story, where many programs land in a “low-thousands” for yearly tuition, with several options designed to keep your total investment predictable while you build employable skills.

Cost Savings Options in Online Management Associate Degrees

Cost mainly concerns tuition, it's true, but there are hidden expenses that are often overlooked, and some of the management associate programs on this list help reduce financial strain even further, beyond just being affordable at the onset:

CSU notes that textbooks are included in the tuition price. Plus, it allows up to 45 transfer credits toward a 60-credit associate.

CCCK highlights one-course-at-a-time pacing and allows up to 90 transfer credits toward associate or bachelor’s pathways.

UA Grantham includes a laptop-for-enrollment benefit and allows transfer of up to 75% of degree requirements.

MPTC emphasizes stackable credentials and transparency around total tuition/fees, plus acceleration options like credit for prior learning.

What Management Associate Graduates Make Four Years Later

The salary figures in this dataset are for the associate management alumni of these programs. They represent median earnings four years after graduation. It's a useful “early-career” signal — especially when paired with low tuition.

CCC hosts an online Associate of Applied Science in Business Management, where alums make $57,590. This is the highest salary on our list. This aligns with CCC’s Procurement & Supply Chain Management pathway, which includes training that's tied to contract administration, sourcing, ethics, market research, and project management tools. This results in careers in purchasing, procurement coordination, sourcing support, and supply chain operations.

At CSU, the online Associate of Science in Business results in a median salary of $51,885 among alums. It supports workplace-ready business competencies, supporting roles in business operations, team coordination, and administrative management.

An Expert Perspective: Practical Strategies for Future Managers With Associate Degrees

Headshot of Paul Posea

Business Owner

As the owner of Drones Gator, Paul has developed expertise in project coordination, cross-functional team management, and ensuring collaboration across different time zones. His role requires him to oversee multiple projects, align deliverables with client expectations, and implement management principles.

Business owner, Paul Posea, offers some advice for prospective online management students studying at the associate level. Specifically, he discusses the importance of adaptability and problem-solving in the field. He explains that while structured planning is crucial, projects don’t always go as expected, making it essential to “change direction, solve problems, and make decisions based on data.”

Risk management is another critical skill. Anticipating challenges and addressing them early can prevent major disruptions. Posea explains that successful managers balance strategic planning with flexibility, ensuring that teams stay on track even in dynamic environments.

For students pursuing online education, Paul notes that the format itself mirrors real-world management scenarios by requiring proficiency in virtual collaboration tools. “The online format promotes self-motivation and responsibility,” he says, pointing out that software like Monday, Asana, and Trello is essential for coordinating remote teams. He advises students to prioritize programs with project-based learning, explaining, “You need to use tools like Agile, Scrum, or Kanban, [do] not just read about them.”

When considering career growth, Paul highlights the distinction between a business degree and a PMP (Project Management Professional) certification. “A degree gives you a broad understanding of leadership, business strategy, and how teams work together, while a PMP certification shows that you can use methodologies correctly,” he explains. He recommends earning a degree to establish a strong foundation, with a PMP serving as a career accelerator.

Lastly, he underscores the importance of hands-on experience, encouraging students to gain real-world practice through internships, freelancing, or managing community projects. "People skills are just as important as process skills in project management," he adds, reinforcing the value of networking and professional relationships in building a successful management career.

EXPERT TIP

He also stresses the value of learning from professors who have worked in the industry. They can provide a deeper understanding of management principles based on their lived experience.

FAQs About Affordable Online Management Associate Programs

How Does OnlineU Rank the Most Affordable Online Management Associate Degrees?

To be considered, a school must offer at least one fully online associate degree in management or a closely related business field, such as business administration, operations management, or administrative management. Eligible schools must hold institutional accreditation and report online enrollment data to NCES/IPEDS, maintained by the U.S. Department of Education.

OnlineU evaluates affordability using a standardized methodology designed to support fair comparisons among the cheapest online associate degrees. Only schools that publish a global or clearly defined online tuition rate are included. Partner and non-partner institutions are evaluated using the same criteria, and advertising relationships never influence rankings.

Final rankings are determined solely by annual in-state tuition, with all costs manually collected and verified from official institutional sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.

How Can an Online Associate Degree in Management Help You Start a Business Career?

Earning an online associate degree in management can be an excellent way to enter the business world prepared for entry- and mid-level careers. An associate degree can help students develop foundational skills in areas such as human resources, marketing, finance, office technology, and customer service — which are applicable across a wide breadth of industries and organizations. Full-time distance learners can generally complete programs in two years or less, enabling quick workforce entry and cost savings. If you’re unsure of this career path, explore our list of the most affordable online associate degrees for additional options.

Is an Online Associate Degree in Management Worth The Value?

For many students, a budget-friendly online associate degree in management can be a cost-effective way to build marketable business skills and move into supervisory, operations, or administrative roles without committing to a four-year degree upfront.

In this dataset, several management programs keep annual tuition under $5,000, with some as low as the ~$2,000 range. This limits debt while allowing students to enter the workforce in about two years.

Earnings data four years after graduation show that graduates from these programs can reach mid-$40,000 to upper-$50,000 median salaries, particularly when programs emphasize applied skills like project management, procurement, supply chain operations, office leadership, and process improvement. Many of the schools on the list above included also embed certificates, internships, or stackable credentials.

Taken together, the combination of low tuition, short completion timelines, and early-career earnings potential makes an online management associate degree a wholly practical option for students who want to enter or advance in the business workforce quickly — or start affordably before transferring to a bachelor’s program.

I am set to graduate in September 2022 with an associate's in management. I have to say, I read a lot of these reviews, and I agree with most of them. The associate's degree is extremely easy to obtain. I was able to test out of 8 courses and maintain a 4.0 GPA the entire time. Intelepath, the system used for coursework, is easy to manipulate to always get an A. Copy the lesson in a Word doc and when you answer questions, use the Word doc to search for words. This school is a joke. I was not surprised when they started closing campuses due to their accreditation of those campuses being revoked.

Not only is the school a joke, but you are paying Ivy League college prices for below average education and years of fighting.

They try to give you all information over the phone and then if you have no written account of what they said in your own records they will back out of what they say. After two years of broken promises and false information I finally started getting everything in writing and email. This is what saved me from a 3000 dollar bill one week before I graduated.

I recommend you keep searching and pass this school over. Not worth the time, money, and emotional strain you will most likely experience. I actually filed three complaints with the BBB but only one was validated because I had nothing in writing for the others.

People complaining about Keiser, please just SHUT up. Some complains here about Keiser are legitimate but other people are are just winning. If you can't do your school homework or fail exams, don't blame Keiser please. I have 6 friends who attended Keiser and all of the graduated just fine. I too graduated in 2015 with honors. Keiser is actually one of the BEST collages in Central Florida but of course it's VERY EXPENSIVE because it's a private institution. But I love the fact that students ONLY... Read More

I am a current Strayer University student and am enrolled my last quarter of classes. I originally started my degree at the Huntsville Campus and I must say I loved it. I was only enrolled there for my first three quarters.

The staff was very prompt and friendly. The classes were relatively small and the professors were willing to give extra one on one attention to whoever required it. Because of my job situation, I had move to the Birmingham area. The staff is ok.

I went back to give myself an edge in job hunting competition and job change options. I only had my AA from 20 some years ago. I actually (finally) learned algebra here at UoP. The classes were very challenging. I did on campus for all of my bachelor's and most of my master's except for the last 5 courses which was global management so the participants were more diversified in experience from all over the country than in my local neighborhood "campus".

Overall I learned a lot and it boosted my confidence... Read More

MOST of the people in my classes were there because their company was paying for it and their companies wanted to promote from within but they technically needed the piece of paper/degree. So, it was a good experience for me and I like that I got both experiences of the "campus" and online.

Stay away and spend your GI Bill elsewhere. So many hidden regulations and half your day spent on campus is at the financial aid office because they want $$$. Then you get back to class only to realize you missed half of it and no notes or handouts are provided for the schools negligence. Btw way overpriced for what you get!!
