The program is very lock step and there is little room to think outside the box. A good school as far as it goes.

The College of Veterinary Medicine is excellent and is one of the top vet schools in the country. There is definitely a lot of work involved with becoming a veterinarian but OSU makes you well rounded in your education. You are not only able to treat patients; you learn all the other aspects of being a veterinarian like communication and practice management. I definitely made the right choice with attending OSU.

Pros: supportive faculty, good use of technology in the classroom, excellent school, classmates are helpful and not competitive against each other Cons: heavy workload (comes with the territory of being in veterinary medicine), limited parking, limited financial aid

OSU has one of the best veterinary programs in the nation. The faculty/staff are extremely knowledgeable and approachable. The Dean himself regularly strikes up conversations with students in the Grand Lounge. The only negative comment I could make is that the students can be very competitive, but professional students are bred to be very driven and competitive. Most are very willing to help each other though. Our class regularly share study guides via google docs. OSU trains incredible vets and... Read More
