How We Rank "Best" Schools

%%YEAR%% Best Online %%LEVEL_NAME%% in %%PROGRAM_NAME%% Badge

The OnlineU research team verifies that only institutionally accredited schools offering at least one fully online bachelor's in international business degree make the cut. On top of that, schools must also have at least five verified student reviews and an aggregate rating of 2.5+ on a five-point scale. While some of our rankings include partner schools, every school is evaluated using the exact same criteria.

We prioritize the most relevant student feedback by starting with reviews tied to the exact program and degree level. If too few bachelor's in international business qualify, we gradually expand the review pool to include related programs or other degree levels, while preserving the most program-specific results at the top of the list. This process continues until all eligible review data has been considered.

Student Review Summary: Reviews of Everglades University are broadly positive, driven by high ratings and frequent praise for flexible online delivery, one-course-at-a-time pacing, and staff who regularly check in, answer quickly, and help working adults, parents, and veterans stay enrolled. Many reviewers say instructors bring real-world expertise, keep classes engaging, and helped translate coursework into promotions, career changes, or further education. Many say the school works especially well for full-time workers, military families, parents, and older returning learners because assignments can fit unpredictable schedules. Students also note that coursework is often writing-heavy, research-intensive, and more rigorous than expected, with less group work and more independent accountability. Negative reviews center on inconsistent professor quality, generic feedback, slow refunds or financial aid issues, transfer-credit disputes, proctoring frustrations, and concerns about accreditation limiting transferability, licensure, or career mobility.

What Sets This Program Apart:

  • Purdue Global offers 14 concentrations within this management degree, including both Global Business and Global Marketing Management, allowing students to approach international business from either a broader management or marketing perspective.
  • Qualifying undergraduates can begin with a three-week introductory trial and withdraw during that period without being charged, providing an unusual way to test the online program before committing to the first term.

Student Review Summary: Reviews of Purdue Global are sharply polarized, with ratings skewing negative overall because many low-score accounts cite persistent administrative breakdowns. The most common complaint is financial aid and billing: delayed disbursements, conflicting answers, unexpected balances, loan issues, and poor communication that some say disrupted enrollment, graduation timing, or military benefits. Several also mention disorganized advising, transcript and transfer-credit problems, and inconsistent professor quality. Positive reviews focus on flexibility for working adults, manageable scheduling, supportive advisors and instructors, and coursework described as rigorous, writing-heavy, and career-relevant. Some valued credit for prior experience, helpful tutoring, and practical online tools, despite concerns about cost and uneven career support.

See How The Highest-Rated Online International Business Bachelor's Degrees Compare

Among the three online international business bachelor's programs with median earnings data, as shown in the graph above, FIU reports the highest figure while also having the lowest estimated four-year tuition. That's a pretty unbeatable combo. UHD is close behind at $63,587 in median earnings and roughly $31,020 in tuition, while SNHU reports $61,372 in median earnings against approximately $41,040 in tuition.

International business degrees can prepare students for very different corners of the global economy, from supply chain and trade to finance, marketing, and multinational management. Because of that, a modest difference in median earnings may be less important than how closely a program’s curriculum matches your intended career path. Comparing tuition and earnings can help narrow your options, but those figures are more useful when weighed alongside each program’s international business focus as well as opportunities to build relevant experience.

Recommendation rate and review rating capture different parts of the student experience: one shows the percentage of verified reviewers who would recommend the school, while the other reflects the average score students gave it on a five-point scale.

Both can be useful when comparing international business programs online, since degrees may differ in their focus on trade, finance, cross-cultural management, global strategy, and applied business work (as the above program descriptions indicate).

Standout Features of the Best International Business Degrees Online: An Editorial Analysis

International Business Inside a Broader BBA

Southern New Hampshire University Online

At SNHU, online business students earn a BS in Business Administration and then add a five-course international business concentration. That can appeal to students who want global expertise while keeping the broader business foundation of a general BBA. The concentration moves through global finance, international management, multinational marketing, and international strategic management before culminating in an International Business Project built around multinational business problems.

International Business in a Major Trade Hub

University of Houston - Downtown

UHD connects its international business program and Houston's business community. The university says faculty maintain relationships with local employers that can help students secure interviews and employment opportunities, giving the program a geographic advantage that is especially relevant to a field built around trade, logistics, multinational companies, and cross-border commerce. Students can also make the most of their international business major with related minors in areas such as finance, accounting, economics, and management information systems, while study abroad and the International Business Association add optional global engagement.

International Business With an AI Badge

National American University Online

Emerging workplace technologies increasingly affect areas such as research, communication, analysis, marketing, and decision-making across multinational organizations. That's why NAU introduces a technology element into its business bachelor's through a Working with AI general education badge. That feature sits alongside an international business specialty covering international economics, financial management, marketing, business, and management, giving students exposure to several functional sides of cross-border commerce.

FAQs About Choosing the Best Online International Business Degree

Is an Online International Business Degree the Right Format for You?

There are many online international business degree programs available, and our list of programs above may help you find the best option for your needs. Online programs provide the same courses and learning outcomes as traditional on-campus programs. However, distance learning formats may give you greater flexibility in your schedule, especially synchronous courses that allow you to log in and study on your own schedule.

What Should You Know Before Choosing an Online International Business Degree?

An online international business degree offers a comprehensive understanding of global markets, trade, finance, and cross-cultural communication. This program equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for success in multinational corporations. Flexible online courses allow students to balance personal and professional commitments while preparing for diverse roles in the global economy.

There is an an increased demand for business professionals who understand international markets and the nuances of the business environment in other countries. An online bachelor’s degree in international business can be the first step toward a successful career in one of many industries that span the globe.

If you're interested in launching your career in global business by earning an internationally focused bachelor's degree, you'll find a wide range of opportunities to study on campus or online. Although international markets can be complex, bachelor's degree programs are designed to give you the knowledge and skills you need to thrive in this fascinating, competitive field. Courses offer a strong foundation of business practices and strategies, but always viewed through a global lens.

You'll also have the choice between earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree or a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree, which could influence the program you select. In general, BA programs typically include a few more arts and humanities courses, such as history and literature. BS programs, on the other hand, often put a slightly greater emphasis on math and science courses, including calculus and economics.

Admission requirements for international business programs vary by school, but most require a GPA of perhaps 2.5 or higher. When you apply, you'll be asked to provide a copy of your high school transcripts. You may also be required to submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or supervisor and a personal essay. Some of the more competitive schools may require official ACT or SAT scores.

The typical graduation requirements for an online international business degree include a minimum of 120 credit hours. An internship, which may or may not be required, is a great way to gain real-world experience in business before you graduate. Some schools may also require you to complete a study abroad program, which will give you the chance to live and work in another culture.

How Long Should You Expect an Online International Business Degree to Take?

The amount of time it takes to complete an international business degree online depends on the program and credit load. Bachelor's programs typically require the completion of 120 credit hours. Full-time students are often able to earn their degree in about four years, but part-time learners may need five years or longer.

Should You Choose International Business or a General Business Degree?

A general business degree focuses on exploring business fundamentals as they operate in typical domestic markets. An international business degree incorporates all of this information, but also includes an understanding of global markets and international finance. Graduation requirements may also include a foreign language.

How Can You Tell if an International Business Degree Is a Good Fit?

What's challenging for some may be easy for others, so the difficulty of an online international business degree depends on the individual student. Most programs require a combination of general education and major-specific courses, as well as internships or study abroad experiences. In a business program, learning activities often involve a lot of research and writing, some higher-level math and data analysis, and public speaking.

Something else to consider is the amount of travel involved in your career that results from a degree in this field. Of course, this largely depends on your role and your employer. Some career paths, such as international marketing, global sales, or import/export management, may require extensive travel. You may find yourself traveling to one city or region frequently or to many different destinations.

What Courses Should You Compare in International Business Programs?

In addition to general education courses, an international business program at the bachelor's level will include a selection of required courses and electives. Many of the classes are designed to give you a broader, more diversified view of the world. Below are some of the more common core courses:

  • International Business Law: In this course, students learn some of the essential laws and regulations governing international business. Usually taught through case studies, topics may include tariffs, international contracts, business formation, and dispute resolution.
  • International Finance: To succeed in global business, students must understand the complexities of the world's financial system. Coursework typically covers international banking, foreign currency markets, and international investments.
  • Global Marketing: It's important to know that the marketing campaigns and advertising slogans that work in one country may completely fail if used somewhere else. Although international business students need to learn the universal principles and techniques of marketing, they also need to know how to identify, analyze, and assess the effect of marketing campaigns in regional markets.
  • International Economics: This course presents a broad overview of international trade and economic systems. Coursework will explore the forces and factors that drive global economic growth, such as politics, the workforce, natural resources, and technology.
  • Foreign Language: Fluency in a foreign language is a valuable asset for international business professionals. These courses teach students how to communicate effectively in a foreign language, and they also provide insights into the culture, customs, and traditions of the country. Some of the most common options are Spanish, Chinese, and Arabic.

What Accreditation Should You Look for in an Online International Business Degree?

When reviewing your options for online international business bachelor's programs, it is important to consider their accreditation status. Institutional accreditation means that a school's programs, faculty, and services meet national education standards. To ensure the school you have in mind has earned institutional accreditation, you can check the or directories.

An individual program can also earn accreditation, indicating that the program has been designed to give you the professional skills and knowledge you need. Some undergraduate international business programs may be accredited by either the (ACBSP) or the (AACSB).

What Career and Graduate School Paths Should You Consider With an International Business Degree?

With a bachelor’s degree in international business, graduates can pursue a range of career options in the international arena. While some may decide to move directly into the workplace, others may opt for additional education.

If you're interested in furthering your education in international business, several options are available, including master's and doctoral degrees.

One clear choice would be a general Master of Business Administration, or MBA, which can be earned online. You could also combine your knowledge of multinational business with additional education in a specialization that interests you, such as international business, finance, information systems, or marketing.

A business bachelor's degree with a focus on global business can prepare you for many different occupations within multinational and international business organizations. You'll also have the opportunity to work in virtually any global industry.

We rely on the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to provide job descriptions, salary information, and growth projections for some of the more common business occupations. These include management analyst, wholesale and manufacturing sales representative, human resources specialist, financial analyst, and purchasing agent. The median salaries for these occupations here in the U.S. range from about .

How Can You Decide if an Online International Business Degree Is Worth It?

When you think about how much time, effort, and money you'll put into completing a bachelor's program, it's only natural to question whether the degree will be worth it. The answer, of course, largely depends on your personal goals and circumstances.

However, if you're fairly certain you'd like to work in larger, multinational or international organizations, this may be a smart choice for you. Coursework will give you a comprehensive foundation in international business concepts and principles. You may also gain a global perspective on business by participating in study abroad programs and internships. In short, a bachelor's degree with an emphasis on international business may give you a competitive advantage over other job candidates with a general business degree and a similar amount of work experience.

With so many business organizations crossing borders and spanning continents, a bachelor's degree in business is sure to open the door to an almost limitless set of career possibilities. But if you want to stand out in a crowded sea of business graduates, you might want to consider majoring in international business. Multinational organizations are likely to appreciate the global perspective you have to offer.

I really don't understand all of the negative reviews on here. After reading through almost all of them, it's funny to see the pattern between the horrible grammar and elementary school-style spelling from their respective authors.

I, for one, have been attending Everest University since May of 2010. I received my Associate's in Marketing in July of 2012 and began the Bachelor's program (International Management) within two weeks of my graduation date. I have been a member of The National Society... Read More

I always felt like I was learning pertinent information and my instructors (all of them) were unbelievably active in the discussions. There was NEVER a time when I could not get in touch with an instructor or a student service representative.

The financial aid office was a hit or miss, but only due certain individuals. I always received my check on time and I spoke to people who offered me all of the information I needed or wanted. My admissions representative was wonderful and all of the instructors were more than accommodating.

So for everyone who's reading this and thinking "OK, what's the catch? How can this person be praising the school when others are detesting it?" the answer is simple - YOU HAVE TO PUT THE WORK IN! This school(like any other) is only a good experience if you make it a good experience.

I don't regret applying to the school because I've had three years so far to dedicate my time and I have received much deserved academic returns from it.

If you're not the type of person who can dedicate a couple of days a week to do work then you're not ready to look into school at all. Otherwise, I would recommend this experience.

UW - La Crosse was a great experience for me. I enjoyed the people there for the most part. Classes were what you'd expect from a 4-year university. I enjoyed my major and the classes that were required for it. Although, I wish there was more opportunity for jobs in that field afterwards. It's extremely difficult to gain any sort of international business experience while you're attending school still. Whereas, in a field like finance, there are plenty of jobs available both during and after attending... Read More

I really enjoyed my experience at LSUS. With that being said, this is not the place for someone looking for a "traditional" college experience. While there are many opportunities to meet people and become involved with the LSUS community, the focus of the university is mainly academic. I found my classes were a good size (20-30 students) and had reasonable expectations. I am very happy with my experience and am currently working on my MBA through LSUS's online program.

I thoroughly enjoyed my university experience at UH-Downtown. The environment was similar to that of a community college, with no on-campus living, and there were a variety of age groups enrolled in the classes. I was taught by some incredible professors, one of which inspired me to take more of her classes and obtain a minor in Economics. I would recommend this school to anyone considering going back to college and wanting an affordable, diverse, inclusive campus!

I had a great experience at Coastal Carolina University. I enrolled into the Business Management program which was a quite difficult but developed program at the University. The department is divided by major but has great opportunities for learning. I also obtained a Women's and Gender Studies minor, this part of my college experience was my favorite. Through the Women's and Gender Studies department I was able to be an active participant on campus, raising awareness, and putting together seminars... Read More

I went to FAU for the traditional 4-year time period, and I was mainly a commuter student. I went to class for the majority of my time, and I would only stay afterward for extracurriculars or other events. The school was fine, but nothing seemed to happen during the weekends because it was a commuter school.

The education was fine, but nothing groundbreaking, and I applied a bit of what I learned to my current career.

I loved going to UNC Charlotte and I would not trade the experience for anything. However, there are both pros and cons to going to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte for your Bachelor's degree. The city of Charlotte was great to experience because I grew up on a farm and I got to experience so much that otherwise would not have. The academic quality was good but my degree did not lead to anything in terms of career advancement of job stability. I work basic entry level jobs that don't... Read More

Going to SUNY New Paltz to pursue my undergraduate degree was one of the best decisions I've made. The professors and academic staff at the business school are extremely helpful and supportive in helping you with anything from, financial aid, study programs and encouraging extracurricular activities. One of the greatest take-aways from my experience at SUNY New Paltz was the Business Study Abroad program in Spain. It was the perfect balance of academic enhancement and personal enjoyment. As like many of you, before deciding on Utah Valley University and settling down to finish my degree, I attended four other schools within the state of Utah. Utah Valley University is a wonderful university. I have many university experiences that I can compare it with, but the feeling here was simply different. Class sizes were rarely more than 25 students, which allowed an extremely personal relationship with the professors. I didn't feel like the hidden student in the classroom, and overall this... I started going to Ashford in 2013 and it was the best fit for me after having my daughter. I went to community college a year and transferred my credits to Ashford which helped with my degree and cut down loans. Ashford overall helped me get to my goals with my bachelor's degree and work experience in real estate. I was also able to do my assignments on my laptop and travel around the U.S while being a student and working. I don't regret my decision and prefer the freedom of online learning because...
