Our methodology focuses on identifying the best online MBAs offered by California colleges with a primary campus in the state. These programs are fully online unless specific in-person commitments are minimal. We also incorporate data such as online enrollment and Salary Score, as available, from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) to provide a comprehensive evaluation.
How We Rank "Best" Schools
For the featured state, the OnlineU research team ranks institutionally accredited colleges and universities in each featured state using Salary Score, our proprietary measure of how graduates' earnings compare with those of students who earned the same degrees elsewhere. Using U.S. Department of Education earnings data, we compare each college's master's graduates with graduates of the same degrees nationwide, providing a degree-level perspective of financial outcomes rather than relying on institution-wide earnings.
When there isn't enough data to calculate a reliable Salary Score, we rank eligible schools by online enrollment, highlighting colleges with larger, more established distance-learning communities. While some of our rankings include partner schools, every school is evaluated using the exact same criteria.

Student Reviews of Online MBA ProgramsOverall, the experience was good but would have liked some interactive activities for each of the classes to network with classmates and instructors. Getting messages and/or notifications is a tad bit cumbersome and needs to be improved. Also, getting grades or scores out in an orderly timeframe would make life easier. Review Date: 9/30/2026 Would Recommend: Yes Helpful for Career: Yes I'm currently switching careers. I wanted to earn a Bachelor's in Business before going off to law school. Decided to take an extra year and earn my MBA too. I had previous college experience under my belt so was able to complete both degrees in 3 years. There was a lot of reading, research, and writing both programs. However, in both programs there were classes that less effort was needed to get a good grade. This sort of program CAN be a paper mill, but there is good instruction to be had for those... Review Date: 10/20/2015 Would Recommend: Yes Helpful for Career: No Highly recommend this school's MBA program for time-conscious driven professionals. With literally no time on the schedule to add one more video conference or meeting, OCU's 100% online MBA permitted at-own-pace completion of course work. Due to the reach of the online platform there was more than adequate interaction with likeminded individuals, both staff & students in different time zones, all pursuing like objectives. I really like the program that I am enrolled in and the responsiveness of my professor. He provides great insight to our posts and interacts with us regularly. I haven't been in school for a long time and the class that I am currently taking has not overwhelmed me, which I'm truly grateful for. I'm glad to be in school again and I look forward to learning a lot and graduating with my MBA! The only thing I'm unsure of is working with Learning Teams, but I'm sure it will be great. Review Date: 5/16/2015 Would Recommend: Yes Helpful for Career: No The pros of my graduate program are I'm taking it in-campus, I have online support and materials provided, teachers are qualified and follows the syllabus provided, and it fits in with my work schedule. This college wants the best for all their students and their future. It may come with private school tuition costs, but it is far worth the investment. Review Date: 3/26/2015 Would Recommend: Yes Helpful for Career: No I have went to Keiser University from the start of my Associate's Degree until now, my first year of Graduate School and the best part of the school is the quick pace and the small class sizes.
