There was some hesitancy with choosing CSU as the reviews were strongly mixed; however, I thank GOD that I followed what I felt. This entire experience has greatly strengthened my ability to connect and communicate the various public health concepts, models, and intervention strategies available to successfully improve the health of any population. Most instructors were fully supportive and dedicated to preparing students for real-life application upon degree completion. My only regret is waiting... Read More so long to utilize the Writing Center, as the suggestions greatly improved my ability to provide mastery-level assignments more easily. Lastly, the Grad Bash (graduation pre-celebration) and Graduation Ceremony were AMAZING!! The truly family-friendly activities and speakers beautifully ended a long journey to achieving my Master's in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health Education. Thank you, CSU staff, for increasing my self-esteem, knowledge, and ability to improve the health status of my community. :)

This university has the worst academic advisors that provided absolutely no assistance during the program. I鈥檓 just over a month away from graduation and not a single person has contacted me regarding the process. When I contacted them wondering what was going on, they told me that registration for graduation has already passed and that they were sorry they forgot to reach out to me. I have been there for 3 years. Their goal is to graduate students and they forgot about me. You know who never forgets... Read More to reach out to me? Their outsourced billing department that borders on harassment, even if you have only a $100 balance. I do not recommend this school. The student experience is awful and the only thing they care about is money. I will be reporting this program to the regional accreditation body. The last three courses were terrible and had zero context or relevance to the programs overall core goals. They filled them 鈥渄ay one鈥� of school busy work and half ass instructors that would teach for 15 minutes just so they could charge the students money. A deep dive into PU680 PU690 and PU699 by the accrediting body needs to happen. I will be pursuing this.

I was a student here and finished my degree in 2022. While the instructors and education were decent, please be mindful of financial aid. I am a veteran and submitted my DD214 to receive the veteran discount and in the beginning, they said everything looked good. Then the last month of my degree, all of the sudden there was something wrong with my DD214 (wrong copy). So I provided that copy, then all was good. Then the last week of school, I get a call that they cannot honor the veteran discount... Read More because the verbiage in the discharge type box was wrong. I was discharged under honorable circumstances and receive disability pay every month so this alone should be MORE than enough (minus the verbiage) to have me get the veteran discount. I was then told I would have to get a lawyer to get the verbiage changed to proceed with the discount. By this point, I was officially graduated and had my diploma in hand. The women I spoke with at the Dallas financial aid office were horribly disrespectful and unable to help. They said get a lawyer, get it changed, then the discount will be applied. Well, who is going to pay for that lawyer?! Not me, I don't have that kind of money. The fact that they WAITED until the very last second to tell me that my DD214 would not be accepted is ridiculosis and makes me think they did that on purpose to collect more money. If you're a veteran, stay away from here, take your education elsewhere that will treat you better. If you are a civilian, I still say go elsewhere because if they treat veterans this way, then they will treat everyone this way

I was a student for a day. I had applied in January 2020, well before my Bachelors graduation from Arizona State University. I needed my official transcripts, so I couldn't complete my application until May 2020. My enrollment counselor had answered all my questions, the most important being if their Master of Public Health degree was accredited. I told told yes. I asked again twice before I completed my application, and then again to clarify a week ago before I finalized all my paper work to get... Read More accepted into the program. Come to find out after doing my own research, the MPH is not accredited. The university is legit, and many of their other programs are accredited, but the MPH is not. Instead of making it clear from the beginning, I feel they strung me along till the very end, hoping I would just let it go. Even claiming that most employers don't care if the degree comes from an accredited program. Obviously, upset, I didn't care what they thought. I know what I want for my money and I know where I want to apply. I was more upset by the fact that they wanted to cover it up and pass it off as not important, than anything else. CEPH is the accreditation California State and LA County jobs I am looking to apply for in the future require. Capella claiming that their "Public Health programs are developed around national standards, including CEPH" does not make them accredited. Also, the fact that they said they are "not pursuing this accreditation for our Public Health programs." says that unfortunately many people for years to come might be told the MPH is accredited, when in fact it is not. Many don't care if their MPH is accredited, and to those, attend Capella! If you want an accredited Master of Public Health degree, don't let them string you along like they did to me. Best of luck!

DO NOT ENROLL IN THE ONLINE PROGRAM!!! Advising is beyond appalling. GWSPH has vastly overenrolled since 2020 and can't deliver what they advertise online. Impossible to finish in one year, very challenging to finish in two. Not enough spots in required classes. Glorified independent study at best. The recorded lectures from GW faculty are fantastic. Most of the section leaders were great except for two during the entire program (one was almost impossible to understand and the other was rude and... Read More unprofessional to several students in my section). But they have vastly overenrolled during the pandemic and cannot handle the number of students they already have. Academic, practicum and master's thesis (CE) advisers do not return emails or process required paperwork for days or weeks (sometimes not at all), have no available appointments for weeks or months, most do not know the program well enough to competently advise students, and they have had a very high turnover in the last year. So many people I know have tales of being ghosted by their advisers. I got into another great MPH school but chose GW in the end because I wanted to work in DC and thought the practicum and connections from GW would be valuable for my career. Huge mistake. Everyone is on their own finding a practicum, and the only suggestions they give you are for full-time, usually unpaid, jobs. I did end up getting a great job after graduation, but not because of anything GW did for me other than putting their brand on my diploma. That is what you are paying for in the end, but in my opinion, that won't be worth much if they keep running the online program the way they have been for the last 2 years. Incredibly frustrated and disappointed. I'm in my last term and can't wait to be done with this whole experience. I ended up with a 4.0, but I did not get the experience I thought I was paying for. GW needs to stop enrolling so many students to make money, hire more competent advisers, and start actually delivering on the promises they advertise all over the internet.

I transferred in general courses from a community college and received my B.S. in Alt. Med. with EU. Then they talked me into pursuing my Master's in Public Health Admin. I really had no complaints about EU until recently and I've been with them since 2014. As soon as I joined the military, my needs changed as did my relationship with the school. I was now in need of a VA Rep. which the school does not offer despite claiming to be military friendly. I don't understand how a school can accept government... Read More funds yet have no rep. to assist their military/veteran students in getting these funds applied. In addition, I was cut orders twice (once for training and the 2nd time for deployment) and both times I was forced to withdraw from the school as my leave would exceed their leave of absence time frame. What school doesn't allow active military students to put their degree on hold for a deployment?!!!! I've never even heard of that! I had to pay a 2nd application fee to come back to the school after the first set of orders ended and then they wanted me to do it a 3rd time after my deployment. To top it off, while deployed, I received weekly phone calls from the school asking if I'd like to return to school to finish my degree because I'm merely just a wallet in their eyes and they couldn't be bothered to take notes on my situation to avoid looking stupid after forcing me to leave then asking when I'm coming back. They even sent a generic email to my SCHOOL email advertising the schools programs as if I was just some prospective student that had never attended. I'm now $90k in the hole for a B.S. that I'm not using and a partial Master's in Public Health Admin. that is not CEPH accredited (just found that out). A CEPH accreditation is not mandatory but, you may find yourself struggling to get a job post graduation without it. I'm so frustrated with the school in every way and now I'm going through the transfer process like someone after a bad relationship skeptical of literally every other online MPH program I come across.
