Why we like them: If you scrutinized online enrollment nationwide, PSU would be part of an elite group, with only 3% of institutions seeing such high numbers, particularly with 8,075 online learners. PSU offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, delivered entirely online, and accredited by AACSB, which is an elite accreditation held by only the top 5% of business schools worldwide. This program requires the completion of 120 credits, with coursework covering financial, managerial, and cost accounting, as well as auditing and taxation. Designed for flexibility, you can complete the program at your own pace while preparing for the CPA exam and other accounting certifications like CMA, CIA, and CFA.
Student Review Summary: Reviews describe a sharply divided online experience. Positive feedback centers on flexible scheduling, rigorous coursework, strong instructor and counselor support, and thoughtfully designed classes that fit around work and family obligations. Several reviewers also valued the school’s recognized name and said the experience was transformative or career-enhancing. Negative reviews are far more operational: outdated course content and technology, limited live teaching, vague instructions, poor professor responsiveness, weak advising, lockouts and platform issues, non-credit requirements, and heavy reliance on group projects where disengaged peers shift the workload. Student Reviews of Online Accounting Programs
The best advice I can give is to make sure you do research before choosing a school to attend. Had I done my research properly, I wouldn’t be attending Univ of Phoenix. The tuition costs are high and a lot of the credits for classes I have already completed aren’t recognized by other universities, so I’m stuck!

University of Phoenix Online Review – Veteran Perspective
I’m currently in my third class at University of Phoenix, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive.
I actually first enrolled back in 2002 while serving in the military. Like a lot of service members, deployments made it impossible to stay consistent, and I had to step away before finishing. Life moved on, but the goal of completing my degree never really left.
Recently, I decided to come back after learning about expanded education... Read More
Coming back after all these years, the improvement in the online platform is night and day. The digital system is streamlined, easy to navigate, and packed with resources. I especially appreciate the integration of video content, including YouTube lectures and supplemental audio/visual materials, which makes learning a lot more engaging and practical.
The structure of the classes also works extremely well for someone with a full-time job. The week runs Tuesday through Monday, which gives me the weekend and Monday morning to wrap things up if work gets hectic—especially working at the post office where schedules can be unpredictable. That flexibility has been a huge advantage.
Overall, I’ve been impressed not only with how far the university has come technologically, but also with how well it supports working adults and veterans. For anyone who had to put education on hold due to service or life circumstances, this is a solid path to getting back on track.

Southern New Hampshire University provides a great academic program that fits within a work to life balance. All of my classes have been asynchronous, making it easy to schedule coursework in between my working hours. Additionally, the course material is excellent in providing the fundamentals in the field and where/how it applies to the real world. I saw many similarities between the course content and on-the-job experience when pursuing careers relevant towards my major.

I had a mix of professors that loved their job- enjoyed teaching the course and were able to impact me and other students positively and professors that wanted nothing to do with the class and made it miserable to attend. I did in fact learn a lot through obtaining my degree, but would've enjoyed having more professors able to engage correctly with the class and/or resources available.

I enjoyed my time at the University of Nebraska Lincoln. I thought the student atmosphere was good and gave me a good college experience. The academics were also good and helped me secure a good job shortly after graduation. The classes I took also helped prepare me for my career. The sports were also good to watch and enjoy.

My favorite part of attending Iona College is the close connection that teachers and students are able to make. Because Iona is small in size it allows class time to be productive and for teachers to provide thorough instruction and lessons. Every professor I have come across at my school is highly successful and their positive and influential attitudes spread throughout campus. Iona College provides a wonderful education as well as a boost of confidence and courage for their students' future.

Bentley University is wonderful university that offers a plethora of majors in business, as well as in liberal arts. I have had the opportunity to learn about real-world business matters in class, at events, and at internships. As a freshman at Bentley, I had to take two accounting and finance classes, IT, Career Development Institute, Business Law, and other important classes that are relevant to today's business world. It was a different experience then what is offered at other universities for... Read More

The accounting program prepares you for your career and the CPA exam. For the most part, the professors are very knowledgeable about the subjects they teach. Santa Clara has a great recruiting system that includes the Big 4 and smaller firms as well. They really help you out in terms of finding a job to starting your career.

I really enjoyed attending UOFL. I liked that most of my classes that were involved with my major are in the College of Business, that way I am not running across campus between classes so I am not late. I do wish that UOFL offered business school classes online though. Because I always had to attend class in an actual classroom, I felt it was hard to get an internship or even go ahead and apply for jobs towards the end of my degree because not every company will work around school schedules.

Overall, my time at the University of Oregon was beneficial. As with any school, there are pros and cons. I transferred to the U of O after my freshman year at another school. The school doesn't offer the same resources for transfer students as incoming freshmen, and oftentimes I felt rather lost searching for information on my own. I wasn't ever assigned a specific academic advisor, even once I declared a major. Being a liberal arts institution, I was disappointed with the inflexibility of scheduling... Read More

A business degree from Texas A&M set me up for success. In my junior year, Texas A&M organized all the big accounting firms to come to the school to recruit. That led to an internship with EY. That internship led to a one year rotation in EY’s National Office in New York City my first year with the firm. Those relationships and that skill set are still paying dividends 10 years later.
